Mission: Drawing from religious, business, civic and individual resources, the interfaith volunteer caregivers work to meet the two mutually entwined and equally important purposes: to respond to the ever-growing needs of older and physically challenged adults living in our communities who struggle daily to maintain their independence at home; while providing meaningful opportunities for volunteers of all ages and abilities to enrich their lives and live out their faith by helping others.
Programs: The interfaith volunteer caregivers (ivc) program provides basic assistance to hundreds of frail, older and physically challenged adults, allowing them to remain safe and independent in their own homes, and delaying or eliminating the need for many people to move into long-term care facilities. Services are provided by a corps of trained and dedicated volunteers, and include: - friendly visits and supportive phone calls - housekeeping and meal preparation - home repairs and maintenance - indoor and outdoor chores - respite for family caregivers - transportation for medical appointments and essential errands - and a variety of other services that help older and disabled adults remain safely in their own homes.
