The Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum, Inc. preserves, interprets and educates aboard the decommissioned Icebreaker Mackinaw (WAGB 83) located in Mackinaw City, Michigan. It is an excellent visit experience each summer season for anyone and families. Tour the "as it was" on its last day of service 290 foot icebreaker from the main deck to the bridge and also below the main deck to the engine room and crew quarters. Many exhibits enplane the need for ice breaking in the great lakes, its history, and the specific history of this ship through 62 years of service. Returning second visits see new exhibits and find out about new knowledge of ice breaking in the Great Lakes. School groups and Scout groups use the ship as an "encampment" site.
