These are very dedicated people who spend most of their time and energy caring for birds that people are no longer able to keep or want. Like birds are put together and have their very own home and fed orgranic food---they are free to fly and be in a habitat that is similar to being in the wild. Their also is a vet who volunteers his services. They have hundreds of well cared for birds. They do not sell or give away the birds. Many are there because their owners have died, have become incapable of caring for them, have moved and can not take them with them etc. ---bird mills in horrid conditions etc. Because some birds live so very long, it makes it hard to keep them forever. I had two rescue birds that I cared for for 20 plus years and they were older when I got them. I was retiring and moving out of state and needed to find homes for them. I did not want to sell them or just give them to anyone --- they were not the friendly kind so they needed an expert in dealing with birds etc. I ran across this place and it has won awards in Washington and I arranged for a visit. I had never seen anything like it and it was just perfect. They took my birds and had them checked by a vet and put them with like breeds. Later, I went back to check on them and they appeared very happy and could careless about me. I could not be happier for those birds and I thank those wonderful people from the bottom of my heart. Check it out---they have a great web site!!!
