Mission: The purpose of the program is to train participants with a specific skill set to enter the workforce quickly and provide the technical skills they need to compete successfully in the global economy. Our vocational training is based on a hands-on approach to learning where students are taught the practical skills and knowledge that employers are seeking. There is a big demand for skilled labor. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are now more job openings than there are workers, making it more challenging for employers to find qualified candidates to fill open positions. Truck driving, construction, information technology, health sciences, and electrical work are just some of the industries that are currently hardest hit by this labor gap. There are simply not enough people entering the skilled labor workforce to replenish the depleting workforce for these industries. The program will teach High Risk Youth and Ex-Offenders a variety of useful vocations, and help them improve their self-esteem, decision-making capacities, and confidence in their future. Importantly, these vocations will increase their employability and offer them better work prospects, or better entrepreneurial skills to support them in the case of self-employment. Enabling their smooth transition from incarceration to freedom, prison administrations provide convicts with external certification for their practical training, with documents that do not indicate that the skills were learned while incarcerated. We have a full range of up-to-date courses and we continuously review our course scope and content to cater to changes in the industry. All our instructors have had extensive experience in the building and construction industry.
