The institute also educates and engages the community to foster an appreciation of the living artist and creative process.

residency and exhibition program: the residency serves five artists each season (sept. -july) to sponsor artists as they create new work in the lux studio, showcase a retrospective of each artist's work, and provide these artists with personal and professional challenge by seeing their work and process through the eyes of the public. The exhibition serves thousands of lux visitors each season by showcasing a mini-retrospective of work of each of the lux resident artists combined with the work of art in process, in order to foster a deeper understanding of the creative process in the viewer.
