Mission: Lutheran services florida serves to bring god's healing, hope and help to people in need in the name of jesus christ.
Programs: Managing entity - substance abuse mental health (samh): in a state where mental health care services are incredibly difficult to access, lsf, through its samh managing entity, leads a vast, 23-county provider network to help some of florida's poorest and most marginalized people obtain the mental health care services they need. Without lsf's samh program, many people's mental health care needs would go unmet. Lsf health manages mental health services for over 52,000 patients; and, provides 139,000 outreach services and nearly 900,000 prevention services throughout the communities where they serve.
youth and family services: when family units disintegrate during times of crisis and conflict, lsf case and social workers are there to not only protect children, but to help preserve families when its in the best interest of children, and to reunify families once they have stabilized. Lsfs focus on family preservation and reunification - whenever possible and when its in the best of interest of the child - translates into an array of services to help families cope and recover from times of crisis. In this past year, lsf helped over 13,500 people move from crisis to stability through its youth and family services. (continued on schedule o)
children's services: helping children break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential through high-quality educational and family-centered programs is the primary goal of lsfs childrens services. This past year, lsf educated over 7,000 at-risk children and helped their families through lsfs early head start and head start classes all across the state of florida. Understanding that food security is essential for family stability and for learning, lsf makes sure that every child under the age of 13 in its head start and after school programs receive healthy, well-balanced meals every day.
