Mission: The purpose of the Lung Cancer Foundation of America (LCFA) is to save lives by improving the survival rate of lung cancer by raising money from the private sector and channeling those funds to lung cancer researchers, so that researchers find effective ways to predict, detect, and treat lung cancer.

Programs: Education and advocacy program: as part of lcfa's mission to help fund much needed lung cancer research, it also must undertake a certain amount of education with respect to not only the disease but the state of the art of lung cancer research as well. This education and awareness is carried out in a number of ways. It includes fundraisers; participation in lung cancer seminars/meetings; through its website; by way of brochures and other handouts; and by way of news articles and participation in television programs.
