I adopted Stormy (a small black and white dog from Armenia) from Lovebugs. She was listed as an Australian Shepherd cross. I have had three and a half Australian Shepherds and I had lost my pup a month before. She was beautiful and looked so focused in her picture that she reminded me more of a Border Collie mix. After working out a meeting with her during the pandemic, I fell in love and asked to adopt. I got her a couple of weeks later from her wonderful foster family after she had been spayed. She has been a fabulous addition to our family and I am very grateful to Lovebugs. Stormy integrated quickly into our family. She is loving and smart but extremely independent. She will go play by herself for hours and be entertained. We are working together to learn basic commands. She now knows them all. She is still working out whether she will do them always when asked. I am working on my patience. Stormy is the one on the right in the photo. Beau my Border Collie/Aussie mix is on the left.

Don and I wanted to give you an update on Emmy, after adopting her this past February. She has settled in with our two cats, Stevie and Ronnie. At times she tries to play and chase them around the house and up the stairs. She is in good health, but we had to have her treated for Giardia, which she got from bad water while roaming in Bakersfield. She is full of energy and loves her daily walks. She sleeps in bed with us and loves to be with us in all aspects. We can’t say enough about your facility and caring people. Thank you! Here are a few pix of our sweet Emmy.

“Nash” was at an adoption event LoveBug and RUFF put on in NB, he was waiting for his new mom to pick him up , he was already adopted out. When she arrived she had a broken hip and was w/her caregiver. LuvBug Rescue could not in good faith & well-being of NASH could go home with her. So he was back up for adoption.

Every time he ran w/the pack by me, he would slow down and stare @ me. We had an instant connection. I knew he had to be part of our family. But when the reps from LuvBug came to my house they were concerned about my “pit/Dane/catahoula”mix dog Kona. They were brothers from another mother instantly. I’ve changed his name to “Milo” and they are inseparable it’s been 3 years and I luv them more each day. It’s such a joy watching them play together, share treats and sleep together.

Thank you a LuvBug for all you do for our fur babies!

Thankful for Lovebugs Rescue everyday! I adopted Georgia 8+ years ago, and it could not have been a better match!

What's nice about Lovebugs, they offer services to their LB Family even after you've adopted. We've taken advantage of the Dental Cleaning, the alumni get togethers and the fundraising events.

It's not just a rescue organization, it's a community they have built with all their alumni.

I am a volunteer for Lovebugs Rescue and have been involved in transporting litters of newborn puppies and adult dogs from shelters to designated foster care homes, as well as to veterinary appointments. The newborn puppies we have picked up from the shelters would have been otherwise been euthanized because the shelters do not have the staff to bottle feed. It’s an amazing feeling to see these little guys grow and flourish and find new forever homes. Lovebugs Rescue is a very organized and efficiently run organization, and because of an extensive network of volunteers, fosters and veterinarians, they are quick to find foster homes and veterinary care for so many dogs that would otherwise endure suffering and death. I am proud to be a part of this rescue and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to adopt a dog or puppy.

Our family has been fostering and volunteering with Lovebugs for 5 years. We have always had an amazing experience. The rescue is well organized and run, and puts the animal’s health and welfare above everything. Everyone involved is very caring and dedicated to making a difference.

LoveBugs is a unique non-profit rescue in the way they care for the pets that come into the rescue. Not many rescues will take in pets that have medical & special needs for the financial commitment can be daunting to any Rescue organization. All the fosters love on the dogs they take in and are committed to each until the right home is chosen for that pet's needs. They have had some dogs in rescue for a number of years, some pets have had their final homes be the foster home - but as far as those dogs are concerned - they had their forever home until the end. Resources don't end with medical needs - but in some cases investments are made for behavior, training, or socialization needs too. Just look at the beautiful pictures of the dogs that have passed through the organization and the followup pictures that Adopters send as their dogs settle into their forever homes. I highly recommend this organization and it's my privilege to be a foster for them.

I have been a foster for three dogs through Lovebugs and have adopted my own dog from the organization as well. I have had a great experience, they really take in some of the hardest and most helpless cases including senior dogs, seriously injured dogs who need a lot of medical attention, and Parvo pups. I have recommended my friends to adopt from them as well. I love that the fosters can really get to know the dogs before they find them a good family so they know who will be a good fit.

We have had the pleasure of knowing Heather, the founder of Lovebugs since we adopted our first Chihuahua from them back in 2012. We were inexperienced dog owners and were very grateful for the support that Lovebugs gave us after we adopted. They truly care about all of the dogs that they rescue and aim to provide the best medical treatment. We have since rescued two more Chihuahuas from them.

Our family has fostered for Lovebugs Rescue for several years now and have had only the best experience. Lovebugs Rescue makes sure the animals get the best medical care and goes far beyond so many other rescues. They take in many senior and/or sick dogs and work with each individual foster home in order to provide the best care for the animals. We highly recommend Lovebugs Rescue.

As a volunteer/foster for non-profit dog rescues for 10 years, I would strongly discourage anyone from fostering for this rescue. In my experience, they do not seek top notch, dog advocate fosters for their dogs. They want people who don't question and just follow directions. They prevented my friend, a new foster, from speaking with the vet about her foster dog with a congenital medical condition. All communication went through a intermediary with no medical experience. As a physician, I was not about to put up with such a ridiculous demand. Who knows the dog best but the person who is directly responsible for it's care, the foster parent? That is the person who should communicate with the vet regarding medical issues. Given such an illogical practice, I would have to question the appropriate vetting of the rescued dogs in their care.
