I am the mother of a trans daughter and a gay son. I am Catholic and a retired Catholic school teacher. It has been heartbreaking to feel as though I could not be "at home" as a Catholic because I fully support my children. The Loveboldly group has given me hope and a sense of belonging I have not felt in a long time. The leaders of our group extend their professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to restoring equality for all in our community. I truly feel welcome and am discovering I have a story to tell that can help others in their journeys. Knowing I have support during this time of uncertainty has given me hope and a sense of purpose. I am free to "love boldly".
The person from Love Boldly who we originally contacted,, Melinda, has been just great and a very valuable addition when she can attend our meetings, either in person or by Zoom. Love Boldly is a great resource and I am sure will continue to be in the future.
It was quite by accident that I discovered this group. One of the leaders was eating dinner at a local establishment, and we started talking. For some reason, I shared the story of my trans granddaughter and received an invitation to come to a meeting. All of the people have been supportive and understanding, and their stories are truly inspirational. It is such a blessing for me and my granddaughter to know we are not alone.
I have been connected with LOVEboldly for many years. They are wonderful advocates on policy and education issues that impact the LGBTQIA+ community.
Support groups have always been an important part of a healthy community. This importance has been magnified a great deal by the recent changes in political dialog. LoveBoldy supports the spiritual and mental needs of impacted families in our community by focusing on the most important value: Love.
