This organization is all talk and no action. They do what they do just for self glory and rarely help any animals in the process. So much misappropriation of funds and terrible treatment of volunteers. So many good animal rescue organizations in Austin and this is not one if them. Stear clear of LAB.

Great organization with responsible, caring education for both pit owners and non-owners. Excellent basic training incentive and therapy dog program.

Everyone who works here is so wonderful to work with. I thoroughly enjoy every part of the volunteering experience because this is such a great organization with such lovely, kind, dedicated individuals. Thank you for all you do

Love-A-Bull is a fantastic organization, working towards education of the bully breeds as well as finding new homes for the animals! Their fundraising projects are fun and informative!

i have been a side kick with Lov-a-bull for a very long time now and know when my pit bull and I hit a ruff road Lov-a-bull helped and always have supported us. I started volunteering with Lov-a-bull when I moved back to Austin in 2012. I helped walked abused neglected pit bulls. I love showing the world what real responsible pit bull owners train and love pit bulls. It shows in our dogs and who we are as owners.

Love-A-Bull posted an adorable dog on FB that was in a kill shelter and had heartworms. I adopted her, but heartworm treatment is expensive. The shelter paid for half of the treatment and Love-A-Bull paid for the other half. I was relieved to have their support when I adopted my heartworm positive pit bull. Without them, I wouldn't know her and I wouldn't have been able to pay for her treatment.

I love transporting our love-a-Bulls! They enjoy the car ride, and I appreciate knowing that they have a real chance at finding a fur-ever home one of these days!

I absolutely LOVE what Love-A-Bull is all about. They are always keeping me informed, and they have such a passion for the sweet pitties. They really utilize every version of communication to keep members/future adopt-a-bulls informed about dogs, or what they need help with as an organization.

Love-A-Bull is amazing! I wanted to find a Pittie that I could train to pass the CGC test, and go on to the Pit Crew. I'm a social worker and wanted to be able to take my doggie to places that I volunteer. Love-A-Bull had a beautiful little girl, who I named Piper, that they handpicked for me! She has been a perfect fit for our home (she even loves our cats!). Also, Love-A-Bull doesn't just put out their doggies for adoption and then forget about them; they stay part of the Love-A-Bull family for life! For first time dog owners, this has continued to be a huge help. Our home loves Love-A-Bull and will stick with them for future adoptions!

My husband and I have been members since 2012, after adopting our late love-a-bull rescue Joplin, surviving horrific abuse the first two years of her young life at a South Carolina dog fighting compound, the perpetrator sentenced to a year in prison for animal cruelty. Along with our Chi mix, Doc, we as family participated in many Love-A-Bull activities including but not limited to organized fun walks, pints for pits fundraisers and the annual Pittie Pride Walk, advocating and celebrating pit bulls. Through love-a-bull’s free beginning and advanced training classes, Joplin was able to earn her Canine Good Citizen certification in July of 2013.
After a break from training, we planned to enroll Joplin in the Spring Austin Dog Alliance Agility Camp Weekend to nurture her love of running, jumping, and catching. Joplin’s sudden illness was any pet owner’s worst nightmare as we helplessly watched our playful, sweet-natured pup develop atypical, serious and progressive health issues at only four years of age.
Not even a year later, we ended up letting Joplin pass, due to extreme complications from progressive polyneuropathy, usually a geriatric disease, but occasionally affecting young dogs. Exceptionally supportive, Love-a-Bull memorialized Joplin’s short life on their website. This special effort meant the world to us, overcome with grief.
Relying once again on the organization’s expertise and guidance, we adopted another love-a-bull rescue, Brisket, abandoned with her very young siblings and found in a box on a highway. Like Joplin, Brisket has already participated in a number of love-a-bull activities, most notably the monthly fun walks and a few pints for pits fundraisers. At one point in the upcoming year, we’re planning to take Brisket to the same free training classes, mainly for fun and socialization since Brisket works very well on-leash. Finally, we’ve kept in touch with other love-a-bull members who adopted Brisket’s siblings. Schedules permitting, we’re hoping to have a reunion.
All of this wouldn’t be possible with most other animal rescues. But love-a-bull is exceptional: we’ll forever be part of their pack and family.

Love-A-Bull is hands down one of the best rescue groups in Austin, actually the nation! I came across Love-A-Bull about three years ago while attending a Pittie Pride event. From that day on I found myself wearing their shirts and spreading the word about what great work they do for our community. LAB makes a huge difference for the lives of so many pitbulls. They continue to help people see how amazing pitties are through community outreach offering support such as free training classes for members, monthly fun walks, assistance in spaying and neutering and help to find affordable flea and heartworm treatment. They even train pitties to become therapy dogs and change lives!! I could go on forever about this organization and how truly amazing it is. LAB is a vital part of our community continuing to educate the public and finding forever homes for pitties in need. I am a HUGE advocate for Love-A-Bull and am so greatful for all their hard work!!

I first heard of love-a-bull from a friend who sent me a link regarding two dogs for adoption via Facebook. I took interest in one of the dogs and emailed the organization. One thing led to another, and I ended up adopting Olive, fka Dahlia. Love-a-bull offered free training for me and my dog and was so supportive! From that point on I continued to support love-a-bull by attending events and buying merchandise. While attending the events, I met some great people and decided to volunteer. I have been a volunteer for about three years now. The dedication of the volunteers constantly amazes me! Did I mention that love-a-bull is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization? Now, how cool is that! Keep up the great work!

I adopted a sweet puppy from Love-A-Bull after fostering her for a few weeks. We have since fostered 5 dogs with Love-A-Bull, and they are very supportive of their foster and adoptive families. Love-A-Bull also does community outreach and education to help improve the lives and image of pit bull type dogs. Its a terrific organization!
