Programs: < louisiana right to life educates large number of students during 2016 > through many initiatives, louisiana right to life (lartl) educated high school and college students in pro-life apologetics, ministry and activism. Highlights among these efforts included: 1)geaux forth 2016: lartl hosted this seventh annual event in washington, d. C. , which was expected to be attended by more than 1,400 louisiana high school and college students in the nation's capitol for the march for life. However, due to snowstorm jonas, only about 700 students were able to come; 2) three pulse immersion (formerly camp joshua) weekends, including a college track, were held, training more than 100 students to be pro-life leaders, bringing the total trained since 2008 to more than 950; 3) in the summer, pulse leadership institute (formerly jli) trained 48 high school and college students to be pro-life leaders through its weeklong intensive program; 4) schools/youth group education: lartl's youth pro-life leaders renewed efforts to increase the number of students that are reached through "pro-life 101" presentations around the state at schools and churches, more than 70 in total. 5) through the pulse programs, pulse teams were formed in the lafayette and new orleans areas, and four pulse rallies were held that reached 190 students; 6) the 2016 high school oratory contest was held in baton rouge. It allows students to develop their articulation of their pro-life stance and challenges students to share their pro-life views with others; 8) louisiana students for life: through dynamic student-led leadership recruited and trained by lartl, this movement continues to grow on twelve campuses in louisiana. Through tables and displays in public areas on campus to engage students on life issues, including women's resource day, the pregnant on campus initiative and education about alternatives to planned parenthood's health services; 9) for the last six years, lartl has worked to start pro-life youth camps in other states; in 2016, a number of states again held successful camp events, including in minnesota.
< lartl continues general pro-life education through a variety of efforts > to continue the crusade against death through abortion of thousands of unborn babies in louisiana, and end of life issues, several programs were utilized. One of the chief efforts was the strenthening of the black advocates for life program with a regional outreach and the addition of new team members and regional events. In january 2016, several thousand persons took part in the llm events in baton rouge and shreveport, along with a new march in central louisiana, specifically, the pineville-alexandria area.
