Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To promote social welfare of deaf individuals within the state,preserve and protect their rights as citizens, aid deaf children insecuring a proper education, sponsor cooperation and goodwill withinthe ranks of the deaf community, and cooperate with other deaf organizations to achieve all worthwhile objects.
Target demographics: Improve the quality of life for the Deaf community
Direct beneficiaries per year: 150 deaf victim of Hurricane Ida with $300 towards their immediate needs and provided access with FEMA.
Geographic areas served: Louisiana
Programs: Interpreting, ASL consulting, Law Enforcement training, professional development, ASL ckasses. We also sponsor opportunities, conferences, and financial relief for deaf individuals including scholarships for deaf high school graduates pursuing higher education
