Mission: Christmas in April * Loudoun County is affiliated with the national organization that is transitioning its name to Rebuilding Together with Christmas in April. The project effort was founded in 1973 in Texas, an outgrowth of a Sunday school class. It went national in 1988 and now has 245 affiliates. It was started in Loudoun County in 1992. Since then, we have rehabilitated more than 200 homes on a shoestring budget. All of our work is carried out by volunteers -- from church groups, civic organizations, schools and the homebuilding community. We are an all-volunteer organization. We have no paid staff. Since we began, we have limited our efforts to the National Rebuilding Day, the last Saturday in April. Now we are slowly expanding our effort with an eye on becoming a year-round operation.
