Mission: The mission of the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community. To fulfill our mission we: Source and acquire food and other products and distribute to needy people through charitable agencies or directly through programs; Energize the community to get involved and support hunger relief; Conduct hunger education and awareness campaigns and advocate for public policies that alleviate hunger. Our vision is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County.
Results: We had another record year in 2010. Through our network of member agencies we are reaching over 1 million people in Los Angeles County.
Target demographics: All demographics that are at risk of hunger
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1 million residents of Los Angeles County, of which 40% are children and 5% are seniors.
Geographic areas served: Los Angeles County
Programs: Our programs include; Brown Bag Program for seniors, BackPack and Kids Cafe for children and our general distribution for families and individuals in need of food assistance.
