Programs: Launched this fiscal year as a pilot, the grand park rangers (gpr), is a community wellness and community-building program that contributes to the quality of life in los angeles county by providing free year-round access to recreational, healthy living activities and learning. Through an expedition and "outdoor classrooms" at grand park, gpr's principle that 'it is never too early or too late to learn and play', the program's "tips for life" learning modules and activities: 1. Encourage active/healthy lifestyles; 2. Foster environmental stewardship; and 3. Promote outdoor play and the importance of urban parks such as grand park, local parks and green spaces among children, families, seniors and people of all ages throughout the entire county. In collaboration with community(see continuation at schule o) partners, parks, schools, service groups and public agencies, gpr is desigend to take place at grand park, "the park for everyone' - and, through its collaborative partnerships, extends to other parks and public open spaces. The learning fun will also extend to a discovery and educational app as well as web site page.
