High Flyers is simply family. Both my daughters have been attending since they were around 2 years old , and they look forward to gymnastics every week, they never tire of it. The staff goes above and beyond to help the kids reach their goals and have a great time while doing it. We are so glad to have found high flyers and be apart of it.
The programs offered by Los Alamos High Flyers are an incredible benefit to the community. In addition to the team, they have classes for kids that do not entirely fit the mold. For example, the Ninja Kidz class is excellent for rough-and-tumble kids who can use help in integrating mind/body who might not be ready for much additional structure. The Parkour class is also excellent. The coaching staff is caring and kind. A true gem.
High Flyers Gymnastics hosts a fantastic gym meet every February. The Dreamcatcher Meet has been the largest gym meet in New Mexico for quite a few years, and it takes a tremendous amount of volunteer hours to make it happen. My daughter, who has been a High Flyer for about six years (Team), always spends the entire three-day weekend of the meet running around helping with whatever task is needed in addition to competing. She absolutely LOVES being on the competition team, supporting the gym, and enjoys her coaches. She says the gym is her favorite place to be.
My kids have been going to high Flyers since they could walk. The classes offered are tailored to boys and girls and feel personalized. The coaches are caring and personable, and my kids love going there
I have been so impressed with Coach David’s ability to work with young kids in a group and individually during a session. He has a lot of patience and respect for the kids and expects, and receives, the same in return.
The space and equipment are kept clean and in good working condition.
Our daughter is young but has a passion for gymnastics! She just started this past summer and has loved it!!! The leaders are caring and helpful! Fast at replying to questions! Our daughter hopes to grow in this sport and join their team when she comes of age (she’s 6)
The staff and place are great to work with!
My 9-year-old has been taking gymnasic classes in some form for a few years. She started out with recreational classes and is now a Level 3 with the High Flyers team. She absolutely loves it and it is fun to watch her skills grow, along with her confidence. The coaches do a nice job of fostering a challenging, fun, and supportive experience. Additionally, my now 7-year-old son took Mommy and Me classes and did white/red Ninja Kidz for a year. Check out the gym. There's something for everyone.
High Flyers is a relatively small nonprofit - a gymnastics organization that serves Los Alamos County and surrounding areas in New Mexico. It is continually growing and expanding its footprint, but still the smallest gymnastics organization in the entire state.
I want to talk specifically about the gymnastics meet High Flyers hosts, known as Dreamcatcher at the Santa Fe Convention Center. Growing every year since its inception, it has become the biggest gymnastics meet in New Mexico and much of the Southwest. Teams travel from five different states! This impressive annual production consistently receives acclaim from gymnastics organizations for its highly organized, efficient operation... its 'production value.' All this is solely managed by the smallest gymnastics nonprofit in the state.
Covid has been a huge strain on all nonprofits. The management (led by David Vosburgh) has done flawlessly reaching out to various funding opportunities, donors, clients, and facilities to ensure the financial viability of the organization. Dreamcatcher was appropriately cancelled in 2021. While a challenge, High Flyers has truly flown high through the pandemic.
I have been involved in dozens of nonprofits in my life, in all different capacities. I cannot overemphasize the level of impact and capability High Flyers creates for the community across the Southwest. Measuring impact for its size, High Flyers is at the top of the list.
I have attached a couple pictures of Dreamcatcher, though others can be found on the web.
An excellent 2-minute video can be seen at the Dreamcatcher webpage: https://www.lahighflyers.com/dreamcatcher-invitational.html
I would be thrilled to answer any other questions.
Great gymnastics club! Caring staff and instructors. My granddaughters love taking gymnastics classes there and are progressing very well.
My daughter has been attending gymnastics courses at Los Alamos High Flyers Gymnastics since 2018. She became part of team competition in 2019 and loves every bit of the program and competitions. Her coaches have been fantastic and supportive. They stay up to date with trainings etc. and take the commitment very seriously, while keeping it a fun environment for the children.
We love High Flyers! All three of our kids have tried gymnastics and they love the activities and the people at High Flyers. It provides a great opportunity for kids to learn, grow and interact with real people. This is essential today when we are so immersed in technology. I hope HF will continue to thrive and serve the community.
During COVID my children were able to get safe and quality exercise and education. High Flyers was flexible and worked around our schedule. Now that we can learn in person again, the transition has been seamless and my kids are not behind. They *love* their coaches and I never have to push them to go to practice. The gym environment is support, energized, fun and my kids are improving tremendously. I can't wait for their first meet in October!
High flyers has been like a second family to my kids. The wonderful coaches have taught them to believe in themselves, persevere through challenges, conquer fears, and selflessly support others. We plan to be part of this family for years to come. Thank you high flyers!
Such an amazing environment for kids of all ages! We have watched both of our children grow and flourish with the help of the folks at High Flyers!
We have loved our time at High Flyers. The coaches are knowledgable, kind, and willing to go the extra mile for my gymnast. We are in our 5th year and my daughter doesn’t want to ever stop! She loves gymnastics!
