I have always done volunteer work. This is my favorite Charity yet. The work is fun, the people are amazing. The benefits are great too. Such as, the satisfaction of working for such a worthy cause, helping animals get the care they desperately need. Wonderful caring people and money towards vet bills. The Veterinarian and Vet Techs are fabulous as well.
Logan's Run Rescue has helped my daughter and I spay/neuter over half a dozen cats in the past - they are great. I now volunteer once a week at the thrift store and love working there! Everyone is so nice and it's a great place to volunteer at.
I am a volunteer at the thrift store and feel privileged to be part of an organization that does so much for the community thru animal care and in many other ways.
We live in a poor community where a lot of people make do with what they have. My fist day volunteering at Logan’s Run Rescue I mentioned how many of the children at the small Christian School at my church did not have winter coats at the end of the day I was sent on my way with a winter coat for each child. That was almost 2 years ago. At the beginning of the covid scare when so many parents were laid off and schools were closed. Our church started a clothes drive to stock a “clothes closet” for teens to have New clothes to go back to school next year. Logan’s Run gave 6 large boxes of clothes to donate to this community cause. Logan’s Run is community minded whether it be animal or people oriented.
Hi,
I have volunteered at Logans Run Rescue and Thrift Store for the past 2 years. It's a wonderful place to work. We have such a great group of people sharing their time, efforts, and love for animals. We are all their for the good of the animals. Items are donated and sold for the benefit of dogs and cats. Monies from these sales helps subsidize the cost to have dogs and cats neutered or spayed and to get rabies shots. Logans also participates in foster care and coordinates adoptions. Waylon and Marian Hill are two of the nicest people I know. Our Thursday manager, Jean is awesome. We have an amazing crew. Fun loving, hardworking and down to earth folks. Come check Logans out. Did I forget to say our products are also great? Great value, clean and very organized store and loads of choices. Come on down and experience Logans Run Rescue and Thrift Store in Murphy NC. You can also ask about becoming a volunteer. Work an average of 20 hours a month and get annual shots for free for your dogs and cats. Give back to your community today through volunteering or donated those items you just dont use any more. The animals will appreciate it!

I have volunteered at Logan's Run for about 8 years now. It is such a rewarding job and all the volunteers are so loving and comforting to lost and unwanted dogs. I got my puppy that was brought in with part of his litter back in 2013. He is a beautiful and smart dog who my 6 year old dog, Bailey became his mother when he was 7 weeks old. I am so happy to be a volunteer at the thrift store and always looking forward to meeting new friends.
Been a volunteer for a couple of years now .Best organization I have ever been involved with !T hank you Rusty and Joni, Karl and Kathy for making me feel like faimly Love all you guys !
This organization is comprised of volunteers who give their time and work hard in order to help animals. Sometimes the volunteers even come in on non-scheduled days to help each other. The warehouse manager, Joe, comes in at 7:00 AM and goes out to pick up furniture from donors, then he works all day at the warehouse and stays to clean up at the thrift store when it closes. He is a fine example of how this group works together.
In 2011, the Logan's Run Rescue (LRR) Board decided to concentrate on Spay and Neuter and began to discourage and eventually forbid Members from rescuing stray animals, breaking the By Laws and Mission Statement. In 2012, under the leadership of President Mark Lyden, they began harassing members by making false accusations and filing criminal complaints, all of which were thrown out. In August of 2012, 17 members resigned in a letter to the Cherokee Scout outlining the abuses .
For a summary of the malicious acts by the LRR Board, please go to www.logansrunrescue.co. The acts continue into 2013 as Mark Lyden refuses to use public-allocated funds for spay and neuter animals belonging to the public because of his personality differences with them. The LRR Board is a mean-spirited group of individuals.
