Locust Lane is a very well rounded horse farm. They teach you to honor God and respect people and the horses. The riding instructors are amazing. The horses are fun to ride and gentle. As a teen, I'm going to help volunteer this summer as a counselor. I'm so glad to be a part of LLRC's mission.
LLRC has been such a blessing. My sister and I starting volunteering at the farm about four years ago and immediately felt welcomed. We now do chores weekly and couldn't ask for a better farm to be a part of. We've learned so much about horsemanship in addition to all the amazing experiences we've had. I have grown and Locust Lane has most definitely become a second family for us.
I have been apart of Locust Lane for almost four years now ranging from weekly chores to summer camps. Everyone is very welcoming and willing to serve. The horses are very well cared for and the students enjoy the time they spend out there.
My two daughters have served at Locust Lane Riding Center for the past four years and they have learned great life skills such as putting others first, listening, compromising, working hard, being a true friend, doing chores that are not fun but benefit the whole community, serving, administration, planning, and so much more. Locust Lane has helped mature my daughters into beautiful young women! The programs are excellent, the leaders are solid, and the barn does a great job reaching out to the community.
I've been a part of the Locust Lane "family" for going on 6 years now and I can definitely call it my home away from home. Shelly is very welcoming to everyone and has amazing people and horsemanship skills.
Great horse care facility as well as a great place to learn about horse care and riding!
My daughter has been going to Locust Lane for 3 years now and she loves it! Not only does she get horse back riding lessons, but she gets opportunities to help out at the farm and give back to the community by volunteering to help out at the many local events where Locust Lane offers horse back rides. Best of all, my daughter's experience at Locust Lane has increased her confidence and self-esteem.
This is the second year both my daughter and son have been exposed to horses. When I found out of Locust Lane Equestrian program I had to enroll them. I could not be more thrilled I did. The kids love it and I am glad to know that not only Shelly and Lisa are caring for the children with their learning but also take the time to bring God to the equation. What a blessing they have been to my kids and myself. I am looking forward for them to do horse camp during the summer and many more programs in the future. I highly recommend them.
We have had the best experience at Locust Lane Riding Center. Shelly really knows how to work with and challenge the children. We couldn't have found a better place. I especially love that the children are encouraged verbally every time. I don't know how many times I heard the words "good job" and even more specific encouragements.
Our daughter started riding at Locust Lane this year. We are very pleased with the instruction and care she is receiving at Locust Lane. Shelly and her staff are knowledgeable and caring. They take an interest not just in teaching a lesson, but in helping the students grow personally as well. I highly recommend Locust Lane.
My daughter started lessons at Locust Lane several years ago. I love the fact that they are all about helping others and developing yourself through your interactions with the horses. I've seen my daughter mature into a responsible, caring person and a confident rider, and I attribute much of that to her experience at Locust Lane. It's a wonderful group of teachers, kids and volunteers!
