Causes: Adult Education, Education
Mission: To provide educational opportunities to individuals in or serving in impoverished communities and to promote the health, safety and well being of families in those communities and enhance their ability to live productive lives and combat hunger and poverty. The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes.
Programs: Provided individual and workshop training to 144 individuals and participants at several locations. Venues included: living seeds initiative, catalpa corner farms, lindale, tx; ywam montana, lakeside, mt; ywam arua, arua, uganda. Participant nationalities were diverse, with representation from multiple nations. Participants and individuals received training and consulting to be equipped to serve and build capacity amongst the poor and disadvantaged. Many live among the poor in developing nations or will be deployed to various locations around the globe. Through a combination of classroom theory, group processing and hands on techniques, living seeds initiative trained and equipped the participants in people centered, biblically based agriculture development, conservation agriculture, organic food growing techniques and application, effective ways to work with the poor and disadvantaged, facing social and justice issues, understanding the roots of poverty, considering the potential of the poor, and the role of the local church in facilitating transformational development. The training also enabled networking opportunities for both the participants and living seeds initiative for future collaboration and service opportunities.
