Causes: Job Training, Vocational Rehabilitation
Mission: The mission of Living Opportunities, Inc. is to support people with Developmental Disabilities to live in the same neighborhoods, work for the same employers and share in the same experiences to which we all aspire.
Results: Living Opportunities has received recognition as a model for our supported employment services. We are providing technical assistance to other similar organization to help them develop their capacity to provide supported employment services.
Target demographics: Adults with developemtnal disabilities and students who have completed services of the county ESD.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Living Opportunities currently serves over 200 people with developmental disabilities in Jackson County. We are the largest provider of services to adults with developmental disabilities in Jackson County - larger than all other providers of adults services to this population combined.
Programs: Residential Services: Residential Care provides around-the-clock care for 23 individuals who live in small groups of three to five people in Medford and Central Point. Supported Living: Supported Living staff assist 55 individuals who live in their own apartments, with or without roommates. Employment: Job Coaches support 100 people in jobs in 50 businesses in the Rogue Valley. Our employment services are designed to fulfill labor needs for employers while providing meaningful employment for the individuals Living Opportunities represents. Out and About: Thirty-five individuals participate in Out and About, a sub-program of Employment Services that assures people still have fun and interesting experiences to look forward to. The Studio: The Studio at Living Opportunities is the premiere studio for artists in the Rogue Valley. The 40 participating artists, who experience a wide range of disabilities, receive materials, instruction and marketing, gaining confidence, self-esteem and an income from the sale of their artwork.
