Mission: 58: is an unprecedented global alliance of Christians, churches and world-class poverty-fighting organizations (the 58: Alliance) working together to end extreme poverty in our lifetime by living the True Fast of Isaiah 58. We are a movement of Christians who are willing to make personal sacrifices to free up resources to help the poor, who give to effective projects led by the 58: Alliance, and who pray to align our hearts with God's will as we expressed in Isaiah 58.
Results: The good news is that extreme poverty has been cut in half in the last 30 years; from 52% of the world's population in 1981 to less than 19% now!
Programs: Our projects program is how we enable donors to take practical action to end extreme poverty. We have various projects posted on our website that donors can support, related to issues such as education, food relief, clean water, etc. When a project is fully funded, we send the money to the charity that will complete the project.
our educate program exists to shape the next generation of global philanthropists. We educate young people on the most urgent global issues related to extreme poverty and how they can play a part in the solution.
our innovate program brings metrics, transparency, and efficiency into the world of global giving. We help donors connect with the most effective places where their donations can change lives globally. Our website presents donors with various projects around the world, detailed information about the charities completing the projects, and educational material on the issues related extreme poverty.
all other programs: general programs, impact, live 58. General programs includes expenses that benefit all our programs, and can't be assigned to a specific one. For example, when we print posters that can be used for all our programs. Our impact program exists to show donors the impact that they have made in the lives of people who are (or were) living in extreme poverty. Our live 58 program emphasizes the role of the church in ending extreme poverty through fasting, praying, and giving. Members of the live 58 movement fast, pray, and donate to projects on the www. Live58. Org website. Once a project is fully funded, we send the money to the charity that will complete the project
