My son was diagnosed with brain cancer at just 4 months old, 4 years later and he is still fighting brain cancer and now has a secondary cancer diagnosis. Liv Like a Unicorn has supported us through several programs bringing us much needed financial support and smiles to my children's faces. Emma is always reaching out to offer emotional support and let me know they are there for us. We are so grateful for their continued support.
In 2020 my 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with inoperable anaplastic astrocytoma. A friend recommended that I reach out to Liv Like A Unicorn for support. Sadly we had no time. Our angel gained her wings just 34 days after diagnosis. However, I did reach out to Emma to connect with another grieving mom for support. She showed me how I can help comfort my hurting heart by helping others. I am now on the board of directors for Liv Like A Unicorn and proud to be a small part of making a difference for kids and their families as they face the same devastating diagnosis that we did. My family will forever try to help and support others in loving memory of our angel Kendall Marissa!
Liv Like a Unicorn is a bright spot during a hard time. Once we contacted them they instantly sent over some goodies for my girl but more importantly, Emma, she offered me, herself. To contact her anytime day or night to vent, cry, or for her just to listen to our story. It was so personal. We can’t thank them enough for what they do for us, their community and other cancer families.
I am a volunteer for Liv Like A Unicorn. What a bunch of lovely, amazing, beautiful souls run and support this Foundation. They put incredible amount of work and think through every little detail of all of their events, fundraisers, anything to support the children and their families. All I ever see at their events is happy kids and adults more than willing to support their cause.
I am a volunteer for Liv Like a Unicorn. The foundation’s mission to “be the good” holds true in everything they do from funding research to packing up Unicorn boxes to collecting toys for hospitals. I am happy to help Liv’s legacy live on through the foundation.
Liv Like A Unicorn has played a huge role in our cancer journey. Emma was one of the first people to reach out to me, and she immediately sent my girls some goodies to help us have some fun in our new normal of isolation due to cancer/covid.
The foundation has been so wonderful, not only in providing my girls with fun, but they have also become part of our family. We love the events, and try to help whenever possible. My oldest loves donating toys to Liv Like A Unicorn from her annual toy drive to help around Christmas time!
They are all around just a fantastic foundation full of the most kind hearted people. We are blessed to have them in our lives.
Liv like a unicorn is such an amazing organization that not only supports families of brain tumor kiddos, but funds desperately needed research as well. Emma Lipnicky, CEO, is dedicated to finding better treatments for kids with brain tumors, and ultimately a cure. In less than 3 years Liv Like a Unicorn has donated large sums of money to critical research efforts to fight DIPG. The entire foundation is run by volunteers, and has events throughout the year to support families, such as Christmas in July, and raise funds. My son has gliablastoma multiforme, and I'm so honored to be a part of such an amazing organization that fights for both awareness and funds research.
Wonderful organization that has helped educate our community about the need for funding of pediatric cancer research. My sons and myself have volunteered with Liv Like A Unicorn which is an amazing way to give back. I’m so proud to know and be involved with Liv Like A Unicorn.
Such an amazing nonprofit for the pediatric cancer community. They brought joy to my daughter Danica by sending her gift boxes during treatment, including her in the Christmas in July event and helping with Christmas presents this past year for both of our daughters. They also help with funeral expenses when she passed. Amazing people doing amazing thing. We need more people in this world bringing joy to children suffering from diseases like Liv Like a Unicorn.
I have known the founders of this amazing nonprofit organization for many years. The idea that stemmed from a brave little girl who wanted to help others. Her family honors her everyday by helping others in countless ways and by spreading the message to be the good. I have watched first hand funds raised go directly towards helping to research and fight pediatric brain and spinal tumors. What this organization has accomplished in a few short years is truly incredible. Please read and share their story to help all of these brave little warriors that need our voices and help! #bethegood #livlikeliv
Hello,
My daughter Gianna is an ATRT warrior and had received several boxes from this amazing organization. She has been stable now for about 2.5 years, but after treatment she still had many specialists to see. She was full of joy to see that a box of goodies for her after coming from a mini procedure of getting her gtube site surgically closed, because it wouldn’t close on its own. She had had been like that for several months and was having issues at school with constantly leaking and she panicking. She went through 10 month of treatment including chemo, BMT and radiation at such a young age (2). She now faces some hearing loss, impaired vision and constant neuropathy. I am very thankful that every now and then a box a send to her to cheer her up. These boxes are full of activities such a gardening kits, coloring books, kinetic sand and fidgets. Thank you so much.
Liv Like a Unicorn provides amazing support to the pediatric cancer community - and the pediatric brain cancer community in particular. Their unicorn boxes are a great source of support for kids who spend a lot of time in hospitals or medical appointments. They provide financial assistance to families battling cancer and they are funding much needed research for better and more effective brain cancer treatments which our kids desperately need. The Executive Director Emma is also an amazing resource for families seeking the best current trials for our kids that unfortunately have too few options for fighting this disease. We are so grateful that our son has been supported by this amazing foundation. Please know that your donations to Liv Like a Unicorn are a huge help during a family's time of greatest need.
Liv Like A Unicorn is an incredible organization. Not only did they send my daughter a box stuffed with goodies, they also continued sending her little treats in the mail over the months as she battled brain cancer. It was little things like that that reminded us people were thinking about us and the crafts and activities we received surely made some memories doing them. On top of this, the fact that they raise funds not only to put smiles on people's faces, but also to hopefully one day find a cure for this awful disease is truly amazing. And I cannot say enough kind things about the CEO, Emma. She befriended me through the miles and was a huge resource and comfort as I navigated this journey no parent wants to be on.
