I experienced a serious health scare and reached out to LRF (Lyn) to help find my beloved lipizzan a good home, in case I could physically no longer care for him. I was so impressed with the caring, organization, connections in the horse industry, ease of finding him a home, and absolute dedication to each lipizzan horse. This organization should be a model for all breeds to have similar rescue opportunities. I’m sure the work isn’t easy, but I truly felt like my animal was as important to them as any other lipizzan they’d helped. By the end of the process, I felt like my horse and I had a new friend and advocate on our side. It was a heartwarming experience, and luckily I have been able to continue caring for my special boy. It gives me much peace to know they exist for the breed, as they are committed to preservation of these majestic animals.

Lipizzan Rescue Foundation is amazing! I am a volunteer and get an inside view of the effort and care that is placed on finding each and every horse the best home! Many horses require physical care like dental work, weight gain, or lameness rehab. Others require training or placement in homes that will be able to most benefit the horse. LRF helps each horse with what he/she needs and assures them of a great home and follows them throughout their whole life - not just place and forget. Check out the success stories on the website! The volunteers go to great lengths to help preserve and promote this protected breed. I am proud to be associated with LRF.

We’ve adopted 2 very special mares from the LRF. The organization cares deeply about the breed and individual horses. Finding the best homes for these treasures is their mission. Thank you to the team of volunteers for sending us our beautiful family members.

Having had the privilege and honor to ride, train and perform with the Herrmann's Royal Lipizzaner Stallions for over 35 years, I surprisingly found myself going through the process of adopting a Lipizzan from the LRF (Lipizzan Rescue Foundation). I'm so very impressed with the high level of professionalism and dedication to the Lipizzaner Breed that this organization embodies. The adoption process was very well coordinated and the members of the LRF worked as a team to make sure the welfare of the Lipizzaners in their care have the best possible outcome/placements. I would highly recommend the Lipizzan Rescue Foundation.

I have been riding and fostering for LRF for almost 2 years and am impressed with the care and attention the horses receive. From a thorough check before adoption/foster to the site visit checks. They really care about the horse which I appreciate because to me it "is all about the horse"! The Lipizzan breed has been one of my top choices to ride but due to its rarity only recently have I had that chance. They have tremendous personalities and presence!

The Lipizzan Rescue Foundation is a breed specific non-profit horse rescue and is the only Lipizzan horse rescue in North America. The Lipizzan horse breed is an endangered breed with less than 1,250 horses in North America. The LRF's goal is to preserve the breed and assist any Lipizzan's or Lipizzan crosses in need.

I have been a dedicated volunteer of this great organization for nearly 10 years. I assist specifically in the adoption process of rescued horses. I am also a foster home when needed. Over the years, I have been lucky enough to have fostered eight horses so far. All of which are now in their loving and forever home. This is exactly what the LRF organization strives for! I have chosen to volunteer for the LRF this long because this organization is so committed to rescue and the volunteers are amazingly dedicated and a joy to work with.

Not only am I a volunteer and foster home, but I am also an adopter! I have one LRF alumni that I am happy to be able to call my own. He is a perfectly wonderful addition to our family and is very loved and cared for. I simply couldn't imagine life without him!

As with most non-profit rescues, we are always needing extra volunteers. If you would like to join me as an LRF volunteer, we would love to have you!

I have had Lipizzan horses for over 25 years, and I have been an active volunteer with Lipizzan organizations for most of that time. The Lipizzan Rescue Foundation makes a difference. It makes a difference to the conservation of a breed of horse whose numbers are small. It makes a difference to the people who own and love these horses. It makes a great difference to a horse caught in need. A rescue organization must do more than want to help – they need to know how to help. The LRF has a network of equine professionals, transport services and foster homes qualified and ready to shelter a Lipizzan in need. They are prepared to evaluate, care for, rehab and relocate a horse to a loving and secure home. This organization is also community to Lipizzan owners and lovers of the breed – these are the ties that support horses and humans through good times and hard times. I have seen how supporting the Lipizzan Rescue Foundation with time, energy and financial support makes a difference.

I'm a volunteer with LRF. I am impressed with how this rare breed of horses are cared for through a network of national resources within the Lipizzan community (there is not a central facility), rehabilitated if needed and placed in the right fit home. Evaluations of horse and adopters are in depth to assure the placement is a healthy horse going to a matched adopter.
They even offer a program where you can rest assured that if something happens to you, they will help find care or a home for your beloved Lipizzan.

I have owned Lipizzans for over 20 years. They are responsible for my desire to preserve this endangered breed for future generations. I am proud to work with a small group of dedicated volunteers who collectively accomplish carefully matching Lipizzans in need with suitable homes and foster care, provide training and veterinary services, etc.
I have been a LRF volunteer for several years and it's heartwarming to experience the many success stories of our rescues and look forward to many more happy horses and rescuers.

I have watched this group from the very beginnings, and I now volunteer with them.

I amazed with this small group’s dedication to the horses. LRF assists both horses and their people in their times of need- Even in spite of lack of funds…. The people involved with LRF are truly on a mission to make life better for the horses no matter what it takes.

This is Mak, my second Lipizzan with the help of the LRF organization. Their attention to details and working their collective magic to make appropriate connections is admirable. Mak’s personality is warm and charming. He is a fun date, as he loves to play something akin to peek-a-boo, where he pops up above the stall wall to make eye contact and observe what is in the vicinity. If it is something of interest, he will nicker and walk out to investigate it further. His active mind and curiosity create great opportunities for bonding. I could not ask for more from the LRF organization or from either of my adopted placements.

Our family adopted a Lipizzan cross from the LRF last year. She is a lovely mare and our whole family adores her. They took the time to learn about our needs, asked many valuable questions to make sure she would be in the right home. The adoption process was well thought out and coordinated. We were very impressed with the shipping arrangements. She arrived in style after a long trip across the country. Thank you so much to the LRF team for your continued support and kindness.
