This organization has been presenting an excellent festival and parade every year since 1985. It's in a central part of San Diego, near downtown and Old Town, and attracts maybe 25,000 people. It's free, but you can buy food and carnival ride tickets. The parade is huge and the entertainment is all over the place. Even a place for the younger set, plus teenagers. It's only one day, a Saturday, in April. You know when the big banner is hung across the park.
Really worth checking this event out. There's a website, too. www. lindavistafair.org
Once a year this group donates to a local non-profit. Kinda like paying it forward.
