Lincoln Literacy has been a part of the Lincoln community for over 50 years but it has grown exponentially in the last few to now serve so many more students (we are anticipating breaking 2000!) Our impact is growing and so is the support for the amazing work of the staff, teachers, and tutors. We are so lucky to be able to support our newest neighbors this way! I have been enthusiastically volunteering for and donating to Lincoln Literacy for 7-8 years now. It's one of the best-run non-profits I've ever known, and does a tremendous service for both Lincoln and its English language learners. Because refugees and other "internationals" often arrive unexpectedly needing immediate help with English, LL must be able to turn on a dime, and its director & staff are able to do so. All of LL's services are FREE to learners, whether they are learning job skills in health care, Lincoln Public Schools, truck driving... whether they're in a class to prepare them for their citizenship test, the drivers license exam, etc. And they're also very supportive with their volunteers like me, helping us be successful and fulfilled. Sorry to go on and on..... but LL is a 5-star outfit!
