Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries
Mission: The Lighthouse Mission exists to feed the hungry and help the homeless by sharing God's love with people in need in practical ways. Our commitment is to feed the poor, but our goal is to empower people to overcome poverty and live purpose-filled lives.
Results: Establishment of 9 Mobile Food Outreach locations, bringing food and hope to an estimated 2,100 Long Islanders each week.
Target demographics: the homeless, working poor, and other Long Islanders struggling with food insecurity
Direct beneficiaries per year: An estimated 109,000 Long Islanders through our Mobile Food Outreaches, in addition to approximately 65 Kids and 50 Teens
Geographic areas served: Suffolk County, New York
Programs: Mobile Food Outreaches, Saturday Kids' Club, Teen After-School Programs
