Steve & Becky Gabor 1611 Fifth Ave. Arnold, PA 1568 PH: (724) 339-2102 Lighthouse Ministries Mission Narrative: Vision: The Vision of Lighthouse Ministries Mission Inc. is to provide Food and Shelter to the Homeless and give Help and Guidance to those Addicted to Drugs and Alcohol. Our goal is to Rehabilitate, Provide Temporary Housing and encourage Responsibility and Trust to those coming out of Prison and also the Addicted. We also accept those that have been sentenced by the local magistrate to do community service, in their endeavor to comply with court instructions. Mission Statement: The Mission of Lighthouse Ministries Mission Inc. is to gather together men and women, both young and older, with the intention of promoting Moral and Ethical Character, while providing temporary food and shelter. Not only to teach them responsibility by assigning work activity pertaining to Individual Skills and Learning ability, but also to promote and walk with them in all the daily activities, being that “Example of Christ”. We strive to be of service to our community, with love, regardless of race, religion or gender. To be “A Servant to All”. We expect to be a visible example to all our community, with an outgrowth of Productivity in the areas of employment, spiritual leadership and above all, reliability and integrity in our community, and also to all the lives our ministry touches. History: Lighthouse Ministries was founded in 2003 to give ministry, aid, and direction to the homeless, children and to those most in need. The Lighthouse Ministries is a non-profit and continues its service and dedication to those it was created to serve. Some of the services that we provide are soup kitchen, emergency food pantry, and outreach endeavors to the Arnold and New Kensington communities and homeless. The target population including the working poor, homeless, veterans, residents of public housing, families, women, children, plus the physically and mentally challenged. We also give assistance and interactive support to other community outreach ministries, in their endeavor to promote a better lifestyle for those less fortunate than ourselves. Our Ministry gives aid and direction to the homeless on where to go for help and also provides children with a safe place to go to for after school programs and snacks. We also seek to rehabilitate those persons with addictive habits; Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, with daily supervision and moral support. :Services The Emergency Food Pantry provides Emergency food seven days a week. The Soup Kitchen is providing meals Wednesday and Thursday. The Soup Kitchen operates noon to two p.m. Outreaches at Roosevelt Park, high rises, nursing homes, and held cookouts. In addition, the ministry provides an Easter Dinner, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Dinner, and passes out coats, gloves, hats, and Toys for the children at the Children’s Christmas Party.
Results: Most of our time and expense is spent on Children's Programs, Feeding the Hungry, and Finding emergency housing for the homeless.
Programs: Soup Kitchen Twice Weekly, Outreach programs to Retirement Hi-Rises, Festivals locally, Concerts, Adult and Children Bible Studies, Emergency Food Boxes.
