Lifebeat also provides quality of life services and support, such as musical performances, for people living with hiv/aids and their families.
Programs: Outreach and education (tour outreach program)through our outreach program, lifebeat staff and volunteers reach hundreds of thousands of at-risk youth annually in clubs and concert venues throughout the new york metropolitan area. On a national level, artists invite lifebeat to be a part of their tours, enabling the organization to cast a wide net and reach a large and diverse number of young people. At each venue, lifebeat reaches out to local aids service organizations to assist in providing concert-goers with important hiv/aids literature, condoms, and information on testing and counseling services in their area. Support and grants (hearts and voices program)lifebeat shares the healing power of music with people living with aids, bringing more than 200 live music entertainment evenings a year to aids residences and hospitals. Live music is a gift that has meaning on many levels and enriches the lives of audience members and performers alike. The singers and musicians who donate their time and talent range from local bands to award-winning performers. What began as a couple of caring individuals singing a few songs for a friend in a manhattan hospital has developed into a large community of people dedicated to making this program thrive.

I am the liaison at AIDS Arms, Inc. with LifeBeat and arrange for our staff to be at the LifeBeat venues here in Dallas, Texas we are invited to. AIDS Arms has had the privilege to partner with LifeBeat for over 5 years now and their unique service. Their prevention messages successfully reach hard-to-reach populations at concert venues. Our staff always enjoys working at the events and the audiences receive them well. We have HIV information at our table and distribute condoms which LifeBeat provides and they are always a big hit with the attendees. Presence at these events starts an important dialogue and reminds people about the epidemic so hopefully we can stop the spread of HIV. Working with LifeBeat allows us to reach populations as diverse as the music venues. Some venues that come to mind are Madonna, Fall Out Boy, Juanes, Coldplay, Chris Brown, Salt-n-Peta, Pitbull, Rob Thomas, Scissor Sisters, Paulina Rubio just to name a few. It's a pleasure to work with them! Justin V., AIDS Arms, Inc.
Lifebeat is a wonderful program which makes HIV/AIDS information available to the public through music. The program aims to provide literature and condoms to multiple groups of people who attend concerts and anyone who may be touched by music. The program was very well received at the event we attended and we heard multiple praises for our presence. The information that Lifebeat gives out is a wonderful source for people on the go. The packets provide information that is relevant and easily accessed.
