Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health & Crisis Intervention

Mission: Mission Statement The Life Transitions Network offers education and emotional support services to people coping with the myriad of losses and life changes that we must all face. Our services include one to three day residential workshops that focus compassionately on the traumas of loss, abuse, illness, dying and death with a combination of teachings, personal sharing, creative processes and deep emotional release work (Externalization Process). We also provide training to professionals in the healing and psychotherapeutic fields in the Externalization Process. The residential workshops are appropriate for both lay and professional participants. They are staffed by psychotherapeutic, medical and spiritual experts who bring rich experience to working with loss, grief, abuse and trauma.

I have attended several LTN workshops over the past 20 years. They are always staffed by incredibly skilled and compassionate facilitators. A weekend workshop is worth a year of psychotherapy!

My life was deeply changed by my participation in workshops provided by the Life Transitions Network. I found the externalization approach embedded in LTN's offering worked wonders in helping me both weather and anticipate multiple losses. Subsequently, I have referred numerous clients to these workshops and I have consistently seen how a weekend of a workshop like this speeds up the healing process quite dramatically.

The twice yearly workshop that these wonderful people offer is one of the most intense
but life-changing things I've ever done. The staff are all trained by the Kubler-Ross Center
but each is trained in other fields as well which range from minister to nurse to therapist. The
atmosphere they create to do this work is incredibly safe the moment you walk in the door
The people who attended were able to release feelings from long ago, feelings that may
have plagued them for years and stopped them from becoming whole humans who participate
in life fully. One participant told me it was better than two years of therapy - and I'd have to agree.

A monumental life-changing weekend that everyone should do!!

Life Transitions Network (LTN) produces 2 experiential workshops every year. All staff members have been trained by the former Elisabeth Kubler Ross Center and are very experienced in dealing with any issues presented by the participants.

We all have losses, such as dreams that didn't come true, divorce, deaths of family, friends, and pets, illness, not getting the job we desired, loss of a relationship and the constant changes undermining what we thought was a safe world. At the workshops the participants get to take a look at and begin to work through the "baggage" each of us carry that hinders our relationships and personal sense of well being.

From my personal experience, these workshops changed my life. Finally I had a safe place to express my emotions and share my losses in a supportive and non judgemental environment. When faced with a medical challenge, I could count on the workshop staff to support me emotionally. I also worked through family issues that were a burden for many years. The old song, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.", succinctly states the process. I was able to peel layers of old useless ideas, conclusions, and thoughts that crowded my being and got in the way of being able to experience the joy of living.
