Nonprofit Overview
Mission: ife Steps Foundation provides in-home and community-based services across the life span to those who have developmental and/or physical challenges, the frail elderly, senior citizens and disadvantaged families. Programs are also offered for parents with special needs, minority groups and other high-risk populations challenged by substance abuse, premature birth, prenatal substance exposure, child abuse/neglect and social or economic deprivation. Life Steps Foundation programs serve all ages and include infant in-home and center-based programs, social skills training for adolescents, in-home and center-based programs for adults who have developmental delays, and center-based programs for seniors.
Results: In 2018, Life Steps Foundation-Santa Maria Wisdom Center will be moving to a new adult health center in Santa Maria, CA. In 2012, Highlights include: Addition of three new programs in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo for Personal Care, Homemaker, and Respite Services. An online fund-raising auction: “Doodles for Disabilities,” in which celebrities including Jeff Goldblum, Tom Hanks, Blythe Danner and many others penned their own doodles for auction. The completion of a business plan to launch a new social enterprise leveraging the LSF operating model projected to deliver revenue as early as FY 2014. Addition of two new board members and one new advisory board member, and a joint commitment by our board to launch a new annual fundraising campaign. The refinancing of Life Steps property assets, realizing considerable saving in loan interest.
