I started volunteering with Liberty Humane Society in 2017. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and always willing to help. I can tell their love for the animals they care for is genuine through the interactions I observe and the conversations I have with them about the animals. The staff, and volunteers, are constantly working together to make sure the animals are clean and cared for, and get the attention they deserve. They are always willing to educate volunteers and potential adopters about what is necessary when fostering or adopting a dog or cat. Nobody is more overjoyed when a dog or cat finds their forever home than the people at LHS!
liberty humane and Jersey City Animal Control are one in the same, neither are helpful and do not care for injured animals and do not come out to service numerous calls about an injured animal. This is heartbreaking and shameful. they do not assist, call them one day and test it out for yourself. you will see

this organization does not assist injured animals and instead sends you on fools errands. their policies change daily with whomever is answering the phone that day. after years of disappointment and rarely any assistance i am discouraging anyone from using this company. you are better off going to other counties because liberty humane will not assist its own county. i went to bloomfield NJ and was assisted immediately for a dying animal that liberty humane/animal control told me to euthanize myself. see photo below, they would not help this animal. the cat was on death's door and they told me to handle it.

I moved to Jersey City from Ontario Canada. I couldn’t work so I started volunteering for Liberty Humane Society in the middle of September 2018. The staff and volunteers have helped me feel right at home here. They are all very friendly and passionate about animals and you see it every time you come in. I’m hoping to join the team through their employment opportunities very soon! Thank you LHS for all the support!
For 2 times I went to try to vaccine my dog but in only Wednesday open they close before the schedule. At 5 15 pm when there are not a lot people in line they said not more allowed. I try to ask to the clerk at what time iy is supposed to close and a woman came to me and talk me that they are close. I try to explain that I drive to far I am camr the most faster after work and she answer that is better to go get a veterinary.
If they try to peoole like that i do not want think abiut the animals that could not talk.
I donate before but I felt the people in there do not want to give a good medical assistant a least in one day regukar hour.
