Mission: The organization is a non-profit 501(c)3 mission organization dedicated to feeding the hungry around the world and providing emergency relief to those in need as a result of famine, drought, flood, war, or other disaster.
Programs: Feed the hungry added 30,133 children to its school-feeding program operating in 20 nations, a 20% increase from 2016 enrollment. A total of 180,372 children benefitted from regular, nutritious meals which served to increase school enrollment, decrease absenteeism and improve standardized test performance among elementary school children in some of the world's least developed nations. Feed the hungry continued to fulfill its mission of emergency relief through (a) engaging in food security efforts for south sudanese, congolese and burundian refugees; (b) providing drought relief to affected communities in nicaragua, zambia and malawi; and (c) providing hurricane relief through distribution of food and non-food supplies to communities in texas, florida, the us virgin islands and dominica ravaged by hurricanes harvey, irma and maria. Ongoing programs in 32 states across america provided aid and support to a variety of shelters, camps, food pantries and special community outreach events targeting indigent and vulnerable individuals and families.
