Mission: The mission of the Leon H. Sullivan Foundation is to preserve and extend the legacy of the Reverend Leon H. Sullivan by providing financial support and advocacy for the following organizations which he founded: Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America (OICA), Opportunities Industrialization Centers International (OICI), and The International Foundation for Education and Self Help (IFESH). The Sullivan Foundation endeavors to advocate on behalf of impoverished people through the promotion of the principles of self-help, social responsibility, and human rights. The Leon H. Sullivan Foundation and the Sullivan Entities bring together world leaders, decision-makers, experts and the general public in the areas of Agriculture, Business, Culture, Education, Energy, Health, Democracy and Governance in order to highlight key issues and best practices so as to influence policies, develop strategic partnerships, organize conferences and forums and implement sustainable development programs.
Programs: Raising a $25,000,000 program endowment to support the long-term health of the trhee major non-profits founded by Leon H. Sullivan. To conduct legislative advocacy work on behalf of the Sullivan organizations. - See goals for 2004. To conduct the biennial Leon H. Sullivan Summit - 3,000 attendees and the Leon H. Sullivan Summit Awards Dinner - attended by 1,000 guests in Washington, DC.
