Mission: To operate a public library for the town of lenox
Programs: Since 1856 the lenox library has played an important role in the cultural and literary life of the berkshires. It is distinguished from similar sized libraries in several respects including the diversity of its users, its legacy of private operation and support, its historic building and its professionally equipped art exhibition space. Comprising more than 80,000 items, the circulating collection also includes numerous periodicals, audio books, videos and extensive reference materials. The general and special collections serve everyone from first graders to phd's. Eight public access computers and a wireless network provide free internet access to anyone in the community. These resources as well as diverse programs for children and adults enable the lenox library to help patrons of all ages satisfy their intellectual, cultural and informational needs.
