Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animals

Mission: Leave No Paws Behind, Inc. is an all-breed animal rescue, specializing in seniors, terminal, and special needs shelter animals providing hospice care, comfort, love, and a safe haven for terminally ill and grave rescue cases. LNPB’s shelter diversion program, People, Helping People, Helping Paws, serves under-resourced communities to ensure pets stay with their families and out of shelters. Here at LNPB we believe no family should ever have to choose between life and death for their beloved pet due to lack of funds for medical care.

14 yr old Rico (Golden Retriever) came to me by way of Toby Wisneski of Leave No Paws Behind. Sadly Rico's owner had tragically perished in a house fire leaving poor Rico orphaned. Toby found out that Rico could possibly end up in a shelter so she and Leave No Paws Behind took action to rescue poor Rico and to see what they could do to find someone to open their home and heart to allow Rico to live out his senior years in peace, love, and comfort. I had just lost my 13yr old boxer and 12yr old lab within 3 months of each other and needless to say I was heartbroken. Then one month later Rico came into my life and I his. We both worked on mending our broken hearts together. Rico did indeed find his forever home where he is living his life in peace, love, and comfort. I've had Rico now for 6 months and what a blessing he has been. I can't thank Toby and Leave No Paws behind enough for entrusting me with the care of Rico and all the follow up care and routine check ups to ensure Rico remains happy and healthy for the rest his life ❤❤❤

I have been a volunteer with this non-profit for 12 years. After my first hospice foster, I knew I was dealing with the best organization out there. There love for the animals was amazing. My first foster was hospice, but because of the great medical care, she went on to be 20 years old. Over this past 12 years, I've went on to volunteer for this organization. They are the BEST.

I have had the privilege of fostering many dogs for this organization. The love and care put into all animals is amazing. Sake, pictured below, was a hospice foster. Leave no Paws behind pulled him from a kill shelter so he wouldn’t pass away by himself. Sake came to me and lived 4 more wonderful years. Thank goodness they rescued him, he had so much more life to live.

I have had the wonderful opportunity to foster 2 dogs, Canela and Princess, thru Leave No Paws Behind. Although I only got to receive their love for a short time, they both touched my life in such a big way. I received so much support from Toby and LNPB in their care. Toby was always there to take my call and provide what ever support I needed. Now with the clinic they are able to provide even more care with an amazing staff. Even though I don't have a foster at this time, I would not hesitate to consider fostering again through LNPB!

When the call went out that 4 one-week old kittens needed a foster home, we jumped in to help. Toby and her team made sure these babies received the best medical care and were nourished so they could survive without their mom!

Today, I am proud to work with LNPB rescue! They help cats and dogs from age 0 to seniors. And I'm a failed foster 3x's which makes me lucky to work such a supportive group!

I have a 16 year old rescue from Leave No Paws Behind. She was only 10 pounds when they rescued her from being beaten and used to have puppies. They got her stronger so she could walk and stand to eat. I got a call from Ceo Toby asking me if I could foster her she needed TLC I said of course and that is 4 years ago . She is doing great and gets lots of love. Thank you for letting me share my love and family. LNPB is fantastic.

I first discovered this nonprofit when they advertised on West Covina buzz a community page on Facebook. They are the best pet clinic I’ve ever worked with for my animals. I’ve been taking my dog there and she loves this place. We’ve also rescued our cat Charlie from here both animals are so happy, when they go get their check ups, the staff is very accommodating to the customer and to the animals. I highly recommend this place to anyone who really truly loves her animals. .

I can't say enough good things about the Leave NO Paws Behind Veterinary Clinic. I rescued a dog from a horrible cruelty situation and Toby and LNPB Vet Clinic stepped up to assist with getting her fully vetted. Her ears were infected from being cut off and she had vaginal discharge, indicating pyrometra. LNPB got her in the next day for an emergency spay and cleaned up her ear infection for no charge. It was all covered by donations. Ears aka Faith is alive today because of LNPB and living her best life.

I rescued a 13 yr old Chihuahua, he was skinny and had bad teeth. After 3 weeks he was bit by a bigger dog and broke his jaw. After the ER, and and taking to other vets, we exhausted our funds. I tried doing a go fund me with no luck and posted in FB groups for any help or direction. He was in need of a specialist which I was quoted anywhere from $8,000-12,000. I couldn't see putting down a healthy dog. Someone directed my to No Paws Left Behind Rescue. They contacted me and assured me everything was going to be ok, not to worry, and I would not have to put him down just because I couldn't afford it. She took my information, asked me to send pictures and got me an appointment at their clinic and started a donation page for him. They did his teeth first because he had abses teeth, then the jaw surgery was done and the cost was way cheaper.
He pulled through like a champ in both cases. He is so happy . I am so grateful and blessed that Leave no paws behind was there for my furbaby and able to help. If not, my baby wouldn't be her today. Thank you so very much.

I cannot tell you just how proud I am to work with Toby and Leave No Paws Behind. From it's inception it's been an incredible origination.. I followed them for years on Facebook before getting involved and it's unheard of-what they do. Everyone with a pet knows that medical care for an older pet can be EXPENSIVE. This is the only rescue that I know of which pays for the fostered dogs care for LIFE. I have fostered through them for almost two years and this is no joke. ALL medical costs are taken care of and at the Leave No Paws Behind Clinic ALL people and their 4-legged companions are given prices that cannot be touched anywhere else. it's remarkable. Toby has yet to meet a dog that she doesn't want to help. dogs- older or sick abandoned by their PEOPLE--I can't even fathom this-they get a second chance with people who ADORE them. Their Lives Matter, it's not just a phrase, it's a way of pure love.

Hi everyone! LNPB is amazing. There aren't enough positive words to express how wonderful they are.

Many rescues exist, but there's only one LNPB. Toby and her team are truly there for the animals well being. They don't skip out on ANYTHING that can help an animal in need. They take in the senior animals that nobody will take a chance on and they do everything in their power to give them the longest, happiest life possible. They walk your hand through the process and offer hugs along the way as well.

Thank you to Toby and the entire team for being so dedicated to helping the vulnerable and voiceless senior animals.

I've fostered, pulled animals from shelters, done home checks and vet visits for Leave No Paws Behind for almost 10 years. Best rescue around who keeps their promise to every animal rescued by them. I foster because these animals deserve warm beds, good food and love. They love back because they know they are safe from all harm. Blind, deaf, paralyzed, even grumpy sometimes but I'm up for the challenge. We're not just a rescue, we are a family always there for each other. Thank you Toby and Leave No Paws Behind for allowing me to be a part of your organization.

I have dealt with many nonprofits but Leave No Paws Behind is at the top of my list. The need to help/rescue the seniors and medical needs animals is high. I foster, transport, do home checks etc for this nonprofit. Their professionalism of putting the animals needs as a priority is what it's all about. The CEO is someone I look up to and have great respect for. The motto is "their lives matter!" Take it from someone who knows, no truer words have been spoken.

I fostered, then adopted a nearly blind senior rescue dog when i lived in Maryland. She kept me company when I drove cross country. All too she was gone. And I was alone. When she left, I promised her I would honor her by fostering another senior rescue. I had been following Leave No Paws Behind & was impressed by all they did & their wonderful reputation. I applied to be a foster. Angie (Angelica) was available. Another blind senior rescue. Toby & I talked for a long time... a very long time... And then Angie became my roommate. A few months before the pandemic. Being a foster parent with LNPB is more than fostering a dog. It’s being part of a community. I have peace of mind knowing I’m not on my own. The foster support group and the new vet clinic are my village.

I have admired Leave No Paws Behind and its mission for years. I am so grateful for their work to rescue senior and special needs dogs and cats. They are truly the animals "left behind" in the shelters. LNPB’s mission is devoted to saving shelter animals so they do not live their last days frightened and languishing on a cold shelter floor.

LNPB give animals the hope, love, medical care and dignity they deserve even if it is only for a few days, weeks or months of life as their lives matter. Many rescued seniors thought to have only a short remaining life, blossom and surprise everyone living several more years! This organization brings such joy and hope for the future where no animal will be left behind in a shelter because LNPB exists.

I have been fortunate to have been a short-term foster a dog for Snoopy the Amazing until a permanent long-term foster could be found. He was soooo much fun! He’s still thriving with his foster mom, Jenny and his step siblings.

Over the last year, I have supported fundraising for the capital campaign for the Leave No Paws Behind’s People, Helping People, Helping Paws Low-Cost Veterinary Clinic in West Covina, CA.

Watching Toby’s dream become reality–from inception of the clinic to the Grand Opening (during Covid19) and now watching the clinic perform its professional care of animals has been so exciting! I am grateful to work for the organization and to support such a great team. Toby Wisneski’s leadership and continuous work to save animals is so admirable. Ending suffering is the most compassionate act a human can do. This next chapter of the clinic program will help thousands of people and their animals in the future.

I love watching how the donors love the mission and the LNPB programs. Please make a contribution today to help Leave No Paws Behind, Inc. continue their life-saving work for animals and families!

I have been a member of this foster group for over 2 years and just recently lost my foster dog due to age and medical issues. I will again foster a dog thru this group and I have nothing but praise for how I have been welcomed and supported. Loosing my foster was very difficult for me and Toby was there to help me walk thru the entire process. So I would now like to share my experience with the new Leave No Paws Behind Low Cost Clinic in West Covina Ca. It is opened to the general public, so I took my own personal dog Jake in for a Dental appointment and cleaning. I can not believe it has only been open for a few weeks. Everything is so professional that you would think it has been open for years. The cost is SO reasonable and the staff is so helpful and friendly. And what can you say about Missy Achenbach, VMD except that she is the best. I feel so comfortable knowing she is taking care of my furs. Congratulations to Toby, Frank, Missy and the staff, you have hit a home run! Because of my experience, I would highly recommend this foster group and their new low cost clinic!

I had heard a story about LNPB on the news and began following the organization online. Their work was important to me as they rescued older and medically challenged dogs. My first dog had just passed away and my other pup and I weren’t ready to adopt. Then they shared about Sebastian. He had been burned all over his body and reminded me of my boy who had passed. I called and offered to just foster to help give him medical baths and get him ready for a good home. LNPB screened me, which I really appreciated. They delivered him to my home. He never went back :). Over the years, I’ve learned how committed Toby and her crew are to saving animals who need saving the most - the forgotten, the beautifully imperfect, and the elders. Day after day, they have moved mountains to save as many as humanly possible. Somehow, while doing all of that, Toby managed to achieve her dream of opening a low cost vet clinic so that no one has to give up their canine family members because they are unable to afford care. My LNPB alum Sebastian recently had his first visit at the clinic and it was wonderful - the vet Is equally warm and skilled and the vet tech was so knowledgeable about medication. We will absolutely be coming back to support the clinic. Staff also gives a personal touch which is so comforting when you’re feeling stress about your pup’s condition. I can’t recommend the organization enough. I’ve attached before and after photos of my Sebastian who is an angel on earth! (and who healed so well!)

I first learned of Leave No Paws Behind when I saw a post from the shelter about two older dogs that had been dumped right before Thanksgiving. One was an obese 16 year old poodle that was mostly bald and completely blind, and the other was a 14 year old terrier with a huge tumor, who was also blind. I could not bear to think of these animals being euthanized at a time when we are supposed to be thankful, so I volunteered to foster them. Leave No Paws behind took them to the vet, and arranged for the one to have surgery. I wondered what I had gotten myself into, but Leave No Paws Behind is wonderfully supportive. The one came through an almost 4 hour surgery, and within a week looking forward to his short walks everyday. The poodle could barely walk because she was so heavy, but she slimmed down, and became my constant companion. She cannot see, she does not hear well, but she is amazingly smart, and maneuvers around the house and yard without problem. She is my couch potato companion, and I am happy for every day I have with her. The terrier is an independent fellow, but he is the gentlest soul. He loves eating over everything, yet if my cat gently pushes him with his paw, will step aside and share his food. I do not know how much longer they will live, but I do know that they enjoy the simple pleasures of every day- the walks, the treats, and the cuddles. I also know that they have given me back much more than I have given them.

I have known Toby Wisneski for over 22 years. She is one of the most compassionate and warm-hearted people I know. She loves animals and has always wanted to make their life better. She had an idea 9 years ago to start a rescue. Since then, she devoted her energy and focus on saving seniors and special needs shelter animals who were abandoned by their families for reasons we will never know. She started Leave No Paws Behind, Inc. with a small following that now has grown to a group of villagers of almost 140,000.

To date, Leave No Paws Behind's villagers and fosters have supported Toby to help save over 740 animals. Most would have died alone and scared on a cold shelter floor without LNPB's intervention. Toby has put her heart, soul, sweat and many tears into her passion at Leave No Paws Behind. She has a heart of gold and would do anything for the animals.

Her dream has always been to open a low-cost veterinary clinic to help owners avoid surrendering their fur babies to shelters because of inability to pay for medical care. The clinic is now open in the San Gabriel Valley providing excellent veterinary care utilizing state-of-the-art medical equipment at low-cost.

My story is one like many.....I follow LNPB on social media and am saddened by all the senior, sick and crippled dogs and cats that are brought in the shelters through no fault of their own. So one day I saw a beautiful big Lab boy having a seizure and thought this time I have to do something to help this boy. I was able to foster him for the rest of his life (though short). It was life changing for the both of us. He knew love and I gave him everything I could. Toby and all the fosters at LNPB are angels doing the toughest job with with biggest hearts!! Merri Bonino

I have the privilege of being a long term foster paw-rent to Little Cody. His paw-rent passed away and Cody ended up at the shelter. Shelter in SoCal are not places of shelter so much as holding pens where most hard to adopt pet are euthanized and the old sick ones never have a chance to live out their retirement in a loving home.
Toby and the LNPB team take on the most likely to die at the shelter, the pets get a freedom ride directly to the vet, get a complete check up and than the real rescue starts. Once all of the medical need have been met the pet goes to a foster. LNPB have a very stringent vetting process for all foster, not everyone is able to care for a special needs pet.

Cody had cancer on his head, which the doctor removed and so far no recurring problems:)

What's great about fostering for LNPB is that Toby and the team are alway there for us. If Cody needs to see a vet, get groomed, or I just have a question about his care, they're there ready to help. AND they have a rule that we post photos of our foster every week. AND they track every pet that's with a foster. No all rescue do that. They all should be some don't.
LNPB has just started a new project! they are building a low cost vet practice for th many folks who can't afford to care for their pets. They idea for that started years ago when LNPB rescued a little old dog that turned out to have loving parents who were to old and poor to take care of his health needs. Toby arrange for that pup to get the vet care he needed and he got to go back home to his humans. Now it's Toby's mission to help pets stay where they belong, in a loving home.

Cody has good days and not so good days, but he gets lots of love and everything he needs.
He may still miss the mom that died, but he knows he is safe in a loving home. How can we foster pets that we know will leave us much sooner than a normal rescue? We do it because they never should be cold and lonely again. NEVER! and many of them surprise us by living much longer than the vet predicted.
Cody has been with me over a year now and adds joy to my life everyday.

This is an incredible rescue organization. They rescue death row dogs and cats, mostly seniors with medical issues. They are A plus when it comes to Vet care, transport and transparency. I have been volunteering and fostering for them over 3 years and when one of my fosters has a need or medical issue they are right on it. The founder Toby is awesome and so caring. As long as she has a foster she never hesitates to save. Please consider donating/fostering this wonderful rescue organization. With over 100,000 followers you can understand why. My two fosters are death row Poms rescued in the 11th hour and both had major medical issues, now they enjoy a full life full of love and didn't have to die in a high kill pound thanks to "Leave No Paws Behind."

I don’t remember how I came across Leave No Paws Behind but I started to follow the group on FB. Every day, Toby, the founder of LNPB would update us about the rescued dogs: who was still being treated at the vets, who had been placed with a foster, and who had found the magic ticket of a forever home!
The focus of LNPB is to rescue Senior dogs and dogs with serious medical issues. Many of the dogs were surrendered by their owners because they couldn’t afford the expense of vet care. Through the wonderful Village that are the followers of LNPB we have been able to provide that medical care - even just for a few days or weeks of the dog’s remaining life. So far LNPB has rescued over 700 animals.
I first took in a foster who was blind from glaucoma. Estimated to be 10years old at the time, he’s still thriving and I opted
to adopt him. Our second “foster fail” also came from LNPB and she’s doing great too.
Toby is always available for emergencies and good advice when caring for the fosters. Currently she is trying to organize low-cost vet care for people who want to keep their pets but can’t afford it.
I hope to stay part of the LNPB village for many years. I can’t think of another group as deserving as LNPB!

I am a Leave No Paws Behind foster parent. LNPB goes above and beyond for every single dog they save, making sure that they get great medical care and a loving foster or forever home. I love that LNPB saves dogs that otherwise stand very little chance of making it out of the shelter. My foster dog is the happiest dog I've ever met and is so grateful for her second chance. I am grateful to LNPB for giving it to her.

How could anyone not love this organization! They rescue the old and discarded and unwanted in the worst of conditions. They get vetted- whatever their needs may be. One heart wrenching story after another and mostly with happy endings. These precious seniors shouldn’t have to die on a cold shelter floor. Toby Wisneski has the heart of an angel. I’m proud to support them . Thank you to all the volunteers of this very special organization....

Completely overrated. The fosters are treated horribly and they work for Toby the owner. She pays for nothing other than medical and does none of the real work and takes all the credit. Every bit of food, collars, leashes, sweaters, poop bags treats, nail trims, grooming...The foster pays! And she gets donations!!!! This is by far the WORST rescue I have ever volunteered for. They preach caring for every single animal they rescue, however not all get the special treatment (medically). The CEO/founder has terrible planning & judgment. When her planning fails, even though fosters give better suggestions and solutions, she lies and blames the fosters so she can save face and be a hero. But the amazing part for me was that she deletes them first from the (private foster) group on Facebook, so one can't even defend them self with actual proof ( emails,) I see by reading others that I was not the only unhappy foster there. There are so many others that refuse to work with her anymore. Please take your dollars and time to a rescue organization that actually cares about ALL the animals and the fosters that help them out.

I was a paid employee of Leave No Paws Behind and worked with Toby daily for the last several years. I was also being groomed to take over this organization by Toby herself. I now have to interview lawyers for a Defamation Lawsuit against her because the libelous posts she wrote on the internet about me. Incredibly disappointed & disillusioned with this rescue. Transparency also means not blocking & deleting people & comments of whistleblowers.

I have been involved with Leave No Paws Behind for several years, having first discovered the organization during their rescue of a dog in desperate need. I was immediately impressed with the clear dedication and purpose that was put into motion on the dog's behalf. I then decided to learn more about the organization, it's mission, and the manner in which they operate. I really liked what I found, and I was forever hooked!

Being an avid animal advocate, I have found myself connected to a number of rescue groups, over the years. Many are good, some not so good. And a precious few rise to the top as clear examples of what a rescue organization can and should be. Leave No Paws Behind is one of those precious few. Not only do they have an extraordinary mission, they also function in untypical transparency and set an example of integrity and respect that impresses me every time I dip in to see what they have going on.

Above all, though, is the incredible heart that is poured into their program. To the very old and the very sick of our animals, they provide love and compassion. They shower attention and care. And, they offer hope. Real hope for a better tomorrow, to those whose tomorrow might never have come otherwise. They look into the eyes of each animal and whisper, "your life matters", because it really does.

As a donor and an animal advocate, I strongly support LNPB. They have gathered together a remarkable village, and I am proud to count myself among the villagers.

We came across Leave No Paws Behind when we first saw their posts about Hope. The journey of how they literally brought her back to life, was so inspiring and touched our hearts! We wanted to be a part of it. We had rescued two seniors of our own and felt drawn to foster as LNPB continued to post about each rescue that followed. Angel was our first hospice foster. She was meant for us and we loved her right away. Getting in contact with Toby and working through our concerns really opened our eyes to the ins and outs of the incredible work they do!!! Toby's heart and commitment to these senior treasures, is a beautiful gift. It takes someone strong and determined to make all these miracles happen. To me, the thing that sets this rescue apart from so many others, is the transparency in posting all vet bills, the tenacity to take the dogs that are beyond repair and the continued drive to fight for one more dog each time they are at full capacity! There's always hope and there's always room to help one more... They are incredible, selfless and genuinely care that the life of each helpless rescue matters. Attached are pictures of two fosters we have been blessed with because of the work that LBPB does... Angel and Jacksons lives mattered

Leave no paws behind is an amazing rescue group. I've only known Toby for a year, but we work closely together and I've gotten to know the ins and outs of the organization. Toby grabs these elderly animals right before they are to be euthanized. She spares no expense on their health and finds wonderful fosters for them. These dogs get to experience a wonderful end of their lives. They get to be loved and welcomed into foster's care. Thank you Toby!!

Both were days and maybe even hours from dying when they arrived at the shelter. Leave no paws did everything they could do and both of them survived and not only survived but are now thriving and happy pampered puppies, and living with ME!! Leave No Paws Behind saves senior fur babies who have been dumped at shelters, often high kill shelters. Some of our senior fur babies have special needs or may be terminally ill and would surely be put to death, dying alone, scared and confused on a cold shelter floor. Some are just getting old and want desperately to be loved and know their lives matter. LNPB gives these precious fur babies a life many of them may have NEVER known even if it's only for a fleeting moment, like Bonnie who died two days after she was rescued in the loving arms of her LNPB foster mom. Bonnie had been dumped in the shelter's night deposit box. How horrible, right? I became aware of LNPB after I saw a cat they saved named Valentino on Twitter. I started following LNPB on their Facebook page to keep up with Valentino's recovery. I fell in love with a rescued dog named Jackson and became a foster mom after they rescued Dewey, a 15 year old Maltese dumped at a high kill shelter. Check out these pictures. These are some of our rescues and proof senior fur baby lives matter. That's Jackson with those big beautiful eyes. That's Dewey after his first grooming appointment in the black carrier. Please support LNPB. We desperately need foster families. You provide the home and love, LNPB covers all the medical care through the Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks. We're a team. Be blessed. Thanks.

There are many rescues and Leave No Paws Behind is one who walks the talk of being a 'rescue'. They take the most medically challenged and do not hesitate to give all that is needed. Funds are not the concern - helping the animals is. Toby has helped quite a few that I have seen in shelters who had no other option than her rescue. I've always gotten daily updates on the animal's status, plus she is totally transparent with funds. I have a foundation that has helped some special cases with finances and I have only praise for not only the financial transparency, but also the emotional aspect of helping animals that she understands. So I appreciate hearing how each animal is doing, since I've looked into their eyes.

The attached pics are of a very special cat who was barely alive and in the shelter. She got him rescued as soon as I let her know about his dire condition. He was very sick and on top of many things, he also had sarcoptic mange and ringworm. Being at the vet for almost 2 months was what he needed and nothing was scrimped to help him. He's just 1 of many who Leave No Paws Behind gives their 'all' to.

If I were an animal in dire need of help, I'd want them to rescue me.

I first volunteered to foster for this wonderful rescue 3 years ago and since then have helped in many ways. I have been to the shelter and picked up their rescues, I have carried them out and taken them to the vet, I have handed them over to their loving fosters and seen all their sweet forgotten doggies come to life when given loving care. There is no higher bar set, no better rescue around and I am honored to know and work with founder Toby.

I've been a supporter of Leave No Paws Behind since it started and two years ago, I was lucky to be elected a Board member. I'm an avid lover of animals especially dogs as I have fostered and adopted many dogs. I'm amazed at the work Leave No Paws Behind does to help so many less fortunate senior dogs who have been dumped at the shelter by their owners when they needed them most at the end of their lives. It's a great pleasure to be affiliated with this wonderful organization and help them to grow so we can save more dogs & cats. I've known Toby for many years and have been so proud of the work she has done in the last 6 years in growing this extraordinary rescue. She is extremely passionate about her purpose in saving the lives of so many animals. I know this organization will continue to thrive in saving the lives of many more animals.

I've been on the Board of Directors for Leave No Paws since Nov. 2011. Leave No Paws Behind has done an extraordinary job in rescuing the unadoptable dogs who would have been left to die at the shelter but through their efforts, they have given them the gift of life & love. Leave No Paws Behind has tapped into an area of rescue which is long overlooked by saving dogs who needed extensive medical help or seniors who have been dumped by their owners with no hope of being rescued. I've seen the behind the scenes work that Toby has done in committing to work to save as many lives as possible. Working tirelessly to find temp fosters, long term fosters, hospice foster and adopters. To rescue dogs in the 11th hour of being euthanized and swoop them up in loving arms even if these dogs are old and might not have long to live, at least they will know love & comfort and not die alone. This is an incredible commitment even though many times it is painful to lose these dogs, they will at least have known love. I'm proud to be part of this rescue and the tremendous work they do especially Toby.

I have been involved with Leave No Paws Behind for four and a half years. I believe in their Mission. I am a foster and have never had more joy supporting this organization and working with Toby. The animals needs come first at Leave No Paws Behind. No animal goes without the treatment and vetting they need, whether it is a day, a week, a month or a year. Toby always makes herself available for the needs of the animals and the fosters. I have fallen in love with each and every dog that I have fostered. My favorite part , is Leave no Paws Behind is foster based. No animal gets rescued just to be kenneled . After their medical care and treatment plan in line, they get fostered in a loving home with food, a warm bed and lots of love. These senior, neglected, abused dogs bring much love into my home. Foster or adopt. Spay and Neuter.

I volunteer for this org and I am an animal rights professional with many years of experience with rescue, direct action, legislation and education. Leave No Paws behind does valuable work in Los Angeles, helping homeless pets in need who are scheduled to be killed in our shelter system. This org takes the seniors, the sick, the psychologically injured, the injured and steps in for the creatures the larger orgs won't even help. They are transparent enough for me, the most skeptical person around. I see the bills, have examined the facts and the truth is, animals are given med care, socialization and loving foster homes. I have fostered for them and I have fallen in love with one of my fosters. He's mine now. He is 12, has one tooth, was abused and is now living it up, thanks to Leave No Paws Behind.

Every bit of food, collars, leashes, sweaters, poop bags treats, nail trims, grooming...The foster pays. And she gets donations. We don't know where they go? She lies and won't let fosters talk to the doctors to find out what's really going on with the dogs they're carrying for. She is vindictive and demanding. If you piss her off, she will pull your foster from you. Not because they aren't getting good care, but because say, you challenged her on a medical question. She also isn't with the dogs when they're put down like she claims. Can't say that's true of every dog, but know it's true of some at least Many she's never seen in person. She lies constantly and she needs to be called out for what she is. She does save dogs, but it's for her own ego and she could care less about them.

I'm concerned about transparency with this rescue. When someone asks a simple question on Facebook about a dog or where funds are going, the rescue will either delete your comment and/or block you and then claim slander. I'm very concerned about this practice with a dog rescue!

Leave NoPaws Behind rescues older and sick pups who have been dumped at shelters, left to dies often by the only humans they ever loved. Sick, suffering, and afraid this rescue swoops in in the final moments before the pup is PTS . The first stop is the vet, care is provided, treatment plan put in place, temp fosters found , and finally long term fosters. LNPB retains rights over the pups so that they can continue to provide medical care and oversight. Sometimes the pups live for days and often much longer, they know their live matters. I was first captured by Evie , the bulldog and her little wheel device. She was not with us long, but she gave so much. She was left when she could not walk anymore and LNPB came and saved her. When her time came, Toby stayed with her and she knew how much her little life mattered and all those she affected by her story. I am on the East Coast, never met Toby Wisniski or any of the staff, or the vet, or fosters. I see the Facebook postings, the monthly statements, and 40,000+ Facebook friends that support this mission with what little we too can spare. A more worthy cause does not exist.
