Causes: Leadership Development
Mission: Inspire, develop, and connect leaders to serve the springfield community.
Programs: The leadership springfield adult program trains 64 class participants through a series of intensive daylong, once a month training sessions on leadership dynamics; civic awareness; criminal justice and public safety; communications and technology; arts and quality of life; health and medical services; education and lifelong learning; and the springfield community. The goals of this program are to identify key individuals with leadership qualities and concern for springfield's future; provide a base for rapport between class participants and community leaders; establish effective dialogue and peer relationships among participants that will build common ground for present and future communications; provide a systematic educational program to familiarize participants with the community's opportunities, needs, problems and resources; and to highlight the leadership dynamics that move people and ideas.
the leadership academy program is offered to area high school juniors and is a six month version of the adult program.
the leadership springfield alumni association helps alumni remain actively involved in the organization and community by serving as a network of resourceful leaders; promoting continuing education and leadership development skills; working toward solutions to community challenges; providing leadership support for major springfield projects; and providing assistance to the leadership springfield board on program curriculum, retreats and related projects.
