Title: "Lead Coalition's Remarkable Community Impact: Nurturing Trust, Rebuilding Neighborhoods, and Feeding Hope"
I am thrilled to share my review of the Lead Coalition and its incredible work in our community. Lead Coalition has emerged as a beacon of hope, tirelessly working towards building trust, restoring neighborhoods, and making a tangible difference in the lives of those they serve. Their recent partnership with Gulf Coast State College TRiO Program to support students in need is a testament to their dedication and compassion.
Trust is the cornerstone of any strong community, and Lead Coalition has gone above and beyond to cultivate it. Their consistent presence, open communication, and commitment to addressing community concerns have fostered an atmosphere of trust. This trust has not only empowered residents to voice their needs but has also laid the foundation for positive change.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Lead Coalition's work is their genuine dedication to revitalizing our neighborhoods. Through various initiatives and collaborative efforts, they have taken tangible steps to restore the vibrancy and spirit of our community. Their tireless efforts in organizing community cleanups, providing resources for affordable housing, and promoting local businesses have not gone unnoticed.
The recent partnership with Gulf Coast State College TRiO Program is a shining example of Lead Coalition's commitment to addressing the needs of our community's most vulnerable members. By helping to feed students in need, they are ensuring that young minds have access to the nourishment required for academic success. This collaboration showcases Lead Coalition's vision of a community that leaves no one behind.
In conclusion, Lead Coalition's work in our community is nothing short of remarkable. They have not only built trust but have also been instrumental in restoring our neighborhoods and supporting those in need. Their partnership with Gulf Coast State College TRiO Program is a prime example of their unwavering dedication to the betterment of our community. Lead Coalition has proven that with hard work, compassion, and a commitment to unity, positive change is not only possible but achievable.
As far as my memory serves, I began observing Lead Coalition of Bay County in 2017, when they form Voices Against Violence and soon after I joined the movement. Through this collaboration, I was able to connect with Home for Good, a Bay County-based organization that offers assistance to returning offenders. Since then, I have participated in several workshops Lead Coalition has offered. One in particular, Cornerstone Trust. I learnt so much regarding the establishment and maintaining a small business. Lead Coalition of Bay County has and will continue to impact and/or transform an individual, a neighborhood, a community or an entire county.
The LEAD Coalition has assisted many in this community since it's inception. Whether it is helping to house the homeless, coming to the aid of those who have lost loved ones to gun violence, hosting classes for small businesses (and individuals wanting to move forward in various vocations), or a number of other services too numerous to list here, LEAD is the deeply rooted, go-to organization. We have benefitted from the wealth of resources and services that you provide and are very fortunate to have you here.
Lead Coalition has been instrumental in providing much needed resources for our community. From financial literacy workshops, construction classes, vaccine information and opportunities to get vaccinated to just being visible in the community to answer questions and more. This organization leads the way helping Bay County to be a better community for us all.
Lead Coalition of Bay County is truly committed to supporting our community by strengthening the lives of those who live in it. They are constantly offering opportunities to enrich, educate and inspire others to be the best they can be. It is truly a pleasure to partner with them! Stacy Roberts, Executive Officer, Bay Building Industries Association
The LEAD Coalition is a community embracing organization. As a sponsor of some of their fundraising activities it lead me to want to be a part of the organization. It is an organization that is doing something every day to help make the community safe, cohesive and forward moving. Janice Lucas and her dedicated staff are hardworking and dedicated. The results they have gotten in so many areas are visible in so many ways. If you want to volunteer, donate or need direction, try this organization.
The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. Helping so many underserved people in our community with outreach, programs and assistance!
I live in Florida, a place that has broad inequities in opportunity. My Community is very fortunate that we have the LEAD Coalition here. They unite the Community to address disparities in health, housing and education. Their mission is to work collaboratively to build trust, increase safety and restore neighborhoods. They are a Community Development Corporation that brings together the decision-makers and partners to develop and implement authentic, collaborative solutions to neighborhood challenges. They help in the development of small businesses and investments in minority neighborhoods, to ensure that every Family has the opportunity to thrive.
The dedication and work the LEAD Coalition team delivers each day to the community is outstanding. This team executes initiatives to support our youth, small businesses, and the homeless in our community. They have continued the work to educate our community about COVID, Flu, and other vaccines. LEAD is a community leader working to improve and help our community grow.
I love what Lead Coalition of Bay County is doing in our community. It's helping everyone involved grow and evolve in so many different ways. Their Youth Development program for example is amazing! Kids get the opportunity to learn and explore in unforgettable ways through the 'STEAM Team' program. Children are able to take trips and do different projects including science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. I would have loved to be a part of something like this growing up. The Lead Coalition creates different events that allow people to come together as a community and that's something so special to see. I'm proud to know people that are a part of this nonprofit organization. Lead Coalition puts the Lead in Leaders.
My experience with the people working with LEAD is that they are very excited to serve the community. They have been able to adapt to challenges such as Hurricane Michael, a category 5 hurricane that directly hit Bay County and COVID-19.
In order to serve the community you first have to know what the community needs. LEAD has done focus groups, surveys and forums to learn what the community needs and works to meet those needs. I support LEAD because of the work it does and is very much community-driven. It affects the community in a positive way.
This service was provided in a fast and friendly manner. Everyone was so helpful and explained everything that was being done.
Mrs.Janice was very nice helping me and my friend get signed up.And the entire staff was very nice and patient and the lady they gave the shot was really good.I didn't even feel it.I asked her were she done and we both laughed.
The Lead Coalition is a group of people who cares for the community and the people of Bay County. The help they've provided by getting vaccines available to the people who may not have an opportunity otherwise. They are a great asset to Bay County.
Greetings Everyone,
As a volunteer for the LEAD Coalition it allows me to indirectly assist with community outreach events, that ultimately impacts our local communities. It is one thing to say you want change and no action plan is completed; however, it is another thing to identify local issues and connect with others who also desire the same changes. Together with people of similar vision ,change can and will occur.
I heard about the Lead Coalition of Bay County many years ago and their vision is similar to my own for the community in which we live. I was especially interested in the Construction Workers Basic Skills Course, Financial Literacy, Youth Development (STEM Camp), COVID 19 Vaccinations and Booster Clinic and Zoom Workshops for additional information in understanding COVID 19 and the vaccines. They also provided mask and COVID Kits to the community. They even offered to deliver the needed supplies. How awesome is that? I have even called them regarding other resources in the community and they were able to provide the needed contact information. I have found the Director, Janice Lucas, the staff and volunteers to be super knowledgeable, eager to be of assistance and helpful regarding information I have needed. This is an outstanding organization, much needed in this community, a total asset.
I’m familiar with the LEAD Coalition from participating in the program with the summer of 2018. The program taught me leadership and communication skills as well as opening opportunities for me. At the MLK Rec Center we did a reenactment for The Lion King. We learned how to accept each other regardless of background, race, and genders. Another opportunity given to me was the S.T.E.M Robotics Bootcamp which showed me how to program using the supplies provided. Finally, I discovered how to juggle mature life decisions and get through struggles of adult life using my resources provided.
I started participating in the LEAD coalition in 2015, in middle school. The coalition helped me so much with so much stuff, like finding a job and learning skills. The LEAD coalition had me at fsu pc to learn about sea perch, In the summer of 2019 the LEAD coalition helped me go to a college tour across the the state of Florida, they gave us a chance for us teens voice to be heard for a project for the mlk rec center and In the summer of 2021 they gave me the chance to go to a aviation camp. They helped me learn that I want to be a mechanical engineer!
The LEAD Coalition is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3), that focuses on constructing endeavors that form adaptable neighborhoods serving as an asset to its local community. The mission of the LEAD Coalition and my alma mater, Barry University, both have social justice as a core value and that compelled me to volunteer. There is a phrase that says love your neighbor as yourself. Often times this phrase may escape our very thoughts. When we indeed love our neighbors equally as we love ourselves we will assist them or guide them in being the best version of themselves. LEAD Coalition has been an example of identifying community needs such as having after-school programs for children in two of Bay County Title I middle schools, credit recovery building classes in collaboration with Community Bank, Food giveaway with LGBTQ, Temporary housing coordinating with Doorways of Northwest Florida. As a volunteer seeing firsthand activism, social justice, not only from staff and community links but the CEO herself, was compelling and propelled me to serve as a volunteer. Ms. Janice Lucas's passion and love for Panama City's social changes have not dimmed her flame but instead ignited it for the ultimate goal of the bettering of her community.
I am very familiar with The Lead Coalition of Bay County because I have had the opportunity to help with many projects conducted by this organization. This nonprofit organization has opened my eyes too many needs in a community that I have personally lived in for over four decades. I had no idea that there were so many underserved students that needed a safe place to go after school, or citizens that were living in cars and behind buildings and even dumpsters at night. when I though of charity, feeding the homeless or helping those less fortunate, I never imagined how many of those people were my neighbors, old school mates and everyday faces that I have seen throughout the years. Poverty takes on a whole different look when it's someone you personally know.
When Covid-19 came it was alarming. The Lead Coalition recognized the need and pulled together information to be distributed to try and help communities understand why it was so important to follow CDC guidelines and get vaccinated. Our team worked around the clock and partnered with other agencies to get the word out. Many avenues were used to include Zoom sessions, that invited Doctor's that would answer questions, literature that explained what was happening and what needed to be done and coordination of pop up vaccine clinics in areas where transportation was a barrier .
There is a saying, "It takes a village', and I truly see this now. I can honestly say that The Lead Coalition of Bay County has its share of challenges because of a lack of funding, but is is the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.
As a senior in college, I have selected this non-profit to intern with. I expected a brief shadowing and lots of minuscule behind-the-scenes work, as I wasn't sure how involved I would get to be. But instead of that, I have begun to flourish in my creative work and I was met with fun and exciting challenges that became visions to be executed. Now, I'm developing campaigns and creating graphics for things that matter. I have had nothing but positive interactions both in-person and remotely with this team. They truly go above and beyond to serve our community. It isn't just another 9-5 for them. They are passionate about these projects and everything they do is getting done with a purpose. As this organization continues to thrive, I look forward to seeing the success of the non-profit and the growth and development in the community they serve.
