Programs: Each year Lawyers Alliance serves more than 460 nonprofits that provide a variety of services for low-income people. It focuses on community-based organizations that - Help senior citizens to live with dignity. Lawyers Alliance serves organizations that provide transportation, meals-on-wheels programs, physical and mental health services, and many other services that allow seniors to live in the homes and communities where they have roots. - Expand affordable housing and deliver services for the homeless. Lawyers Alliance helps community development organizations and other nonprofits to develop affordable housing and provide health and human services to homeless families and individuals. - Create new economic opportunities in low-income neighborhoods. Lawyers Alliance assists organizations that foster small business development and job creation, extend capital to low-income neighborhoods, promote homeownership and economic literacy, and prepare workers for jobs. - Build a better future for New York City's children and youth. Lawyers Alliance serves community-based organizations that are promoting youth development, operating Head Start programs, offering in-school and after-school programs, creating alternative schools, and running a host of other services for low-income youth. - Help New York City's most recent immigrants in becoming part of the growth and vitality of their communities. Our Immigrant Communities Initiative provides services to organizations serving New York City's most recent immigrants. Lawyers Alliance helps organizations ranging from multi-service agencies to small, immigrant-run community organizations.
