Mission: To promote economic development in the city of ironton and the county of lawrence, oh, to act as the designated agent for providing governmental assistance to business enterprises and to promote the general economic development.
Programs: For ledc's southern ohio procurement outreach center (sopoc), there were 128 contracts awarded thisyear. This includes 56 department of defense and other federal agencies, 50 state/county/municipal government agencies, and 22 subcontract awards received by small businesses. Sopoc reported 49,920,148 in contract award revenue for the rogram year with over 1,014 jobs created. Donated support services and facilities in fy 11 totaled 37,609.

Lawrence county has scored extrememly high in grant, and in both federal and state funds allocated during 2011. Additionally, private investment in 2011 was very healthy as chatham steel, inc. Completed and placed in operation that new manufacturing facility. Ledc completed the construction of a 32,000 square foot facility in early spring of 2011 which houses a portion of liebert corporation's production with the creation of over 30 new jobs and numerous small businesses birthed. Donated services ad facilities in fy 11 totaled 55,075.
