Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Arts & Culture, Civil Rights, Crime & Law, Education, Fund Raising & Fund Distribution, Public Interest Law
Mission: Law in Action is a Youth-Run 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(2) Non-Profit Organization dedicated to providing low-to-no-cost access to legal counsel for Civil Cases, as well as providing Career-Specific Education Opportunities. We work to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status, or any other factor, has access to the resources necessary to succeed.
Results: We've helped put on events yielding over 100 participants, worked on creating lectures with professors at Harvard Law, and started up a Houston Mock Trial Program at DeBakey HSHP.
Target demographics: Provide low-to-no-cost access to legal care, as well as free access to career-oriented education
Geographic areas served: Houston, Texas
Programs: free lectures, Q/A sessions, Mock Trial Programs, and access to Pro Bono Lawyers willing to hear and take on cases we present.
