Programs: Food and shelter - laurel house provides long-term shelter and basic necessities including food for runaway, homeless and troubled teen girls in orange county, ca
counseling and mental health - counseling and mental health services are provided to at-risk teen girls from low to moderate income households who have limited resources and access to services. The teen girls we serve are struggling with abuse, mental health issues, staying in school sexual promiscuity, self-inflicted mutilation and suicide ideation. They often use drugs and alcohol to self medicate. Adequate counseling can average $150/hour which poses a significant burden to low to moderate in
the live-in house parent of laurel house provides case management and ongoing supervision and support to runaway, homeless and troubled teen girls. She coordinates school enrollment, individualized education plans as needed, and works closely with the local schools on each girl's individual needs. She also coordinates the mental health treatment plan for each resident. She meets regularly with the teen girls on their behavioral contracts and goals.
