Mission: Laurel hill center is committed to helping people with psychiatric disabilities make choices and acquire skills that increase their self-reliance and ability to live and work in the community.
Programs: Our business, sweep optical, provides revenue for rehabilitation services and training and employment for people with mental illness and other disabilities. Employees earned competitive wages in the manufacturing and packaging of prescription eyewear ordered by over 200 optometrists and other eye care providers statewide. Our largest contract is with the division of medical assistance programs, oregon health authority.
rehabilitation services: laurel hill center (lhc) provided recovery-oriented services to 744 adults with schizophrenia and other severe and persistent mental illnesses. Services included outreach, supported housing, supported employment, peer support, and strengths-based care management (including medication prescription and monitoring).
housing: laurel hill provided affordable housing to people with serious mental illness and poor rental histories in our 4 housing complexes. Another 30 people received short-stay respite (1-7 nights with staff support) during periods of crisis.
