This institute was created in 1997 to preserve the legacy of a former FSU professor named Laura Jepsen. As a part of this mission the volunteers care for her cottage and beloved oak tree located at 1401 High Road near the FSU campus. With just over 3 acres of green space surrounding an English Tudor cottage, Laura's vision of living close to nature recorded in her book Lichgate on High Road, comes to live everytime someone new finds this secret garden.
