The Latino Community Center is extremely committed to helping the Latino population thrive in and around the city of Pittsburgh. I volunteered for the Navidad in Pittsburgh event and saw firsthand the level of dedication and service of this organization to the quickly growing Latino population in Allegheny County. We were able to give donated Christmas presents to hundreds of families while entertaining the children with games and arts and crafts. It’s really impressive and inspiring to witness the impact the LCC makes on our community.
This is an amazing organization that does so much for the Hispanic community in Pittsburgh! I’ve been able to volunteer with the group a couple times, and it has always been inspiring to see the word if they do. Definitely recommend this organization!
I have had the opportunity to volunteer with the LCC over the past few years at the JCC as a part of their immunization and COVID booster outreach program and it has been such a fulfilling experience. The people are wonderful and provide such an important public health effort with the added bonus of Spanish consent forms and interpreters to help ease any worries. They also work to create a fun experience for the children who might be scared about the process.
Well run organization. Allows me to use my Spanish language skills which I also use in my regular job. Very hood benefits for Latino families in the Pittsburgh area!!
LCC is a great resource for Latino families in the Pittsburgh area. I’ve been lucky to have volunteered on several occasions over the last couple of years - from packing and delivering food and supplies to families, helping out at events and making calls to families to help them complete paperwork or questionnaires. LCC continues to grow and to add more resources for its community members and I am looking forward to continuing to volunteer for them.
I've been a volunteer with the LCC for almost 2 years and it has been such a rewarding experience. I've been paired with a children as part of the virtual tutoring program I've been able to foster such a positive and intimate relationship with my student and his family. The Latino Community Center does so much for the community and it's been a great organization to volunteer with.
LCC is great organization. Very organized and committed to support the Latino community in Pittsburgh. It's been an honor and a pleasure to be volunteer with my wife in their annual Back-to-School Bash event. I strong recommend reach out to them for volunteer opportunities and make a different into our community.
Great organization! As a board member and volunteer, I’m always thrilled with the opportunity to partner with our amazing and engaging team on the mission to empower, advocate with, and celebrate Latinos in Allegheny County. The organization continues to grow and I’m very excited with the future and further opportunities LCC will bring to our communities.
This is the first time I volunteer in an even for them. I am impressed how well organized they are. Everyone are very friendly and open to assist. It' the kind of community that I am looking forward to keep participating.
Great experience
I recently started volunteering with the Latino Community Center and I am amazed at their level of dedication in helping children and families thrive in our great city of Pittsburgh. I am looking forward to contributing as much as I can to their enduring and life changing mission.
I am extremely proud to be a volunteer at Latino Community Center. This is a wonderful organization helping children and families in our very own communities. The staff is very kind and caring and it clearly shows in everything they do and the sense of family they bring to everyone. We are lucky to have them.

I recently became involved with the Latino Community Center over the past year though my workplace and our ERG as a volunteer. This group truly cares for the community which it serves. I have volunteered with several of their events and the level of planning and execution is amazing. I have seen first hand the impact the LLC makes and am humbled and proud to be a part of it.
I volunteer for the LCC, and I can tell you that the LCC is a terrific organization. They have a true heart for the Latino community in Pittsburgh, and work tirelessly to serve their significant needs. I'm proud to be associated with them.

The Latino Community Center (LCC) is an amazing organization in our city. They serve populations that society marginalizes, and, if they cannot assist them, they find someone who can.
I recently joined the board because I have a passion for social justice and very much believe in the strong leadership at the organization. There is a true dedication to the community; the LCC listens to the community, learns from it, and adjusts its path accordingly. The value-add of the organization is clear in its work with families, health, food security, education, and all else that may affect the Latinx/Hispanic community in our Southwest Pennsylvania region.
I highly recommend this organization, as one you can count on for community services, as one you can financially support, and as one for which you can securely volunteer. The LCC is truly one of the best-of-the-best.
Best community center en the area!
Best community service in town. Nuestra gente necesita más personas como las de LCC , dedicadas y entusiastas y prestas para ayudar. Gracias Latino Community Center por todo su apoyo a nuestra comunidad!!!
The Latino Community Center is an amazing organization that is extremely valued in the community. I volunteered with their summer food distribution program where they were able to quickly mobilize and put food in the hands of those most in need. Jennifer and the staff were very organized and ran a successful program.
This is an incredible organization driven by incredibly passionate and dedicated individuals staying deeply committed to the values and priorities of the Latino families and community they are serving.
As a member of PAC I can say that I've never felt so proud of being a Latina woman representing the voice of our Latin families in this blessed country full of opportunities to all of us. It's a pleasure to be part of this organization dedicated to give support and hope to our Latino families in Pittsburgh. Thank you LCC for letting me be part of your amazing team and for all you do to our community. Also I want to thank the donors who contribute to this noble cause, we couldn't have done it without your support.
The Latin Community Center provides many resources to the local Latin community. With a friendly staff and a mission to support their community through service and educational initiatives, LCC is wonderful organization!
As a Parent Lead at A+ Schools, I engage Pittsburgh parents to help them navigate the local school districts and processes, often connecting them to partner organizations who can provide resources needed for their children to get the education they deserve. The Latino Community Center is always available and willing to assist families who are in need of their services.
The Latino Community Center is an extraordinary organization led by and in service of Hispanic/Latinx-identifying populations across Allegheny County. It espouses a student-centered mission and vision that helps improve the lives of Hispanic/Latinx children and their families across our region.
The growth of the LCC over the past two years has been an inspiring occasion in Allegheny County. In a place where the Latinx community is small but growing, and public and social services have not yet expanded or adapted to meet its needs, the Latino Community Center has functioned in a creative and heartening way with the development of its SOY program, summer camp, and expansion of the Latino Community Center. I'm proud to be a member of the Board and prouder still of LCC's staff.
During Covid--- they were the organization to stand up and get into the trenches to take care of the community. They handed out food, they helped cared people navigate a system that was not created to support them. They helped people get supplies, and help children feel more comfortable, and began workshops to bring some normalcy of life back to the children. The staff worked. and still works so hard to support the community and make sure that all Latinos have what they need.

What an amazing organization! Their willingness to go above and beyond to serve a community without many resources in Pittsburgh is phenomenal. The staff is caring, considerate, knowledgeable and hard working. They have made a difference in so many lives and helped many who felt scared and alone feel included.
The dedication that the Center has to it's community and its constituents is so evident, as a volunteer, in their operations and relations across the city. It's a super gratifying, warm feeling that they sort of radiate that makes you want to continue to support them.
I started volunteering at LCC in the fall of 2017 as an English teacher/tutor/mentor working with a young lady at Brashear High School. I conducted several workshops to train other volunteers to work with students. Also, I volunteered at the SOY after-school program during the 2018-2019 academic year. I need to give the educators at the SOY program a shout of praise for the diligence, knowledge, commitment and care given to the children in the program. They are magnificent women (Ms. Emily, Ms. Aleira and Ms. Jen). The kids grow and flourish under their guidance. The support and enrichment provided by SOY has reached so many youngsters and I know that it will continue to do so. For the past several months, I have been tutoring wonderful young boy on-line, helping him transition from kindergarten to first grade in the areas of reading and math. This little guy is such a trooper and never loses focus. He inspires me, truly! I must say that when there is a need in the Latino community, LCC is at front and center. I am humbled by their relentless hard work!
I have recently started volunteering with the Latino Community Center. It supports Latinx community members in a myriad of ways. I have been pleased to see the level of organization at volunteer events so that my time us well used to provide the service and I have a sense of accomplishment. There is a critical need for the LCC and its work, especially during the COVID pandemic.
I started volunteering here in the fall and I was excited to volunteer there and get more experience in immersing myself int eh Spanish language and working directly with the community. When I arrived on my first day, I was nervous because I was meeting everyone for the first time. However, that went away as soon as I met the directors and other volunteers and of course, the kids. Volunteering here has become so important to me because watching the kids grow, have fun with everyone and learn is such an amazing experience. I hope to volunteer here for a while because everyone involved is so great and welcoming!
I have served as a volunteer for the Latino Community Center, tutoring in their after-school program (SOY) and helping with their food delivery initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The LCC leaders in charge of SOY are all loving individuals dedicated to empowering Latino youth in Pittsburgh. They keep the kids constantly learning and growing, and the kids look forward to meeting all of the new volunteers who help in such an amazing program! I have also had the privilege of helping with LCC's grand efforts to feed the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The LCC leaders in charge of the food distribution have been resourceful in partnering with other community groups to meet the need throughout Pittsburgh, and LCC has emerged as a community leader in helping Pittsburgh's citizens. I will forever be grateful for being connected with the Latino Community Center, and I encourage anyone looking to get involved in the city of Pittsburgh to reach out to LCC!
My experience with the Latino Community Center has been amazing. From the very first time I participated in an event I was accepted by the welcoming staff and the other volunteers. The mission of the LLC is very clear and it is carried out by thoughtful, passionate people through creative projects aimed at supporting the Latino community. I felt valued and welcomed the entire time, which, along with the awareness of having helped people, made my personal experience very rewarding.
Las muchachas del centro latino me ayudan con aplicaciones o papeles de mis hijas y lo hacen con mucha paciencia. gracias!!
The girls from the Latino Community Center help me with application from my kid school and other papers with a lot of patience.thank you so much!
It's been a amazing experience, they always have a smile for everybody, I love spend time in Latino Community Center.
My name is Mahogany Asunción Ríos and here is my story.
The Latino Community Centre has done exceptional work to serve Allegheny County's growing Latinx/Hispanic population. I recently have worked there as an intern from Homewood Children's Village and it's been the best experience of my life! I finally had the chance to take my bilingualism to the next level and speak with other Spanish speakers after feeling culturally isolated in the city. I felt right at home during my internship here and will continue my work here as a volunteer. If you are a Latinx or Hispanic family living in Allegheny County, please come here! They are very patient, friendly, and compassionate people!
Latino Community Center mission is such valuable work in Pittsburgh that deserves being shared worldwide. Their lovely workers are awesome persons dedicated to creating always a better situation from any person who needs it.
Hi, I just wanted to give my testimony about the support that we have been getting from the Latino Community Center. We are a neighborhood organization that helps in the well being of the families and newcomers that live in this area.
The LCC has been one of the first organizations that have been welcoming and helping the new Latino families to get on their feet after a long journey looking for a better life.
We are lucky and at the same time grateful to the LCC that helps with important Services and Resources for the Latino families.
The Latino Community Center is a great organization that assists and empowers Latinos within the Pittsburgh community.
Point Park University began partnering with them last year as one of our Federal Work Study employers. We had two Latino students work for them and they both had a great experience. We are continuing our partnership with them this year, and are expanding to include a position with their afterschool program, SOY PGH. We're also hoping to get students to volunteer for the center, if they are not eligible to be a work study employee.
Besides our work study program, I'm always looking for other ways to get our school involved with the community center because I believe in and support the work they do. Donating to La tiendita is one of my favorite things to do and is a great aspect of the community center. It's a great way to start getting involved.
I highly recommend getting involved with the Latino Community Center in anyway possible.
it is an institution full of opportunities, it helps you to help, it inspires you to contribute to the community, it is a place full of good energy and it opens the doors to everyone in its worst moments.
Excellent place, all are always ready to help, friendly atmosphere, their programs are focused on the needs of the community. What I most enjoy of the LCC is to be able to know new people who understand and live the Latino culture
I love having the possibility of helping others
Is the best place to volunteer! Interacting with Latinos and speaking my language was a great experience
This non-profit really does a ton of work to provide support, community building and new experiences to the students, including dance activities, homework assistance, art projects that promote positivity and more! All while also celebrating the children's Latin culture. They try to fill in any gaps that the children may have, while providing opportunities that will help them and their families flourish in the Pittsburgh area.
The Latino Community Center is committed to serving the Latino population throughout Allegheny County. Rosamaria and her staff and the entire board are dedicated to the mission of the Center to engage, educate, and empower LatinXs and their families. They are doing this by working diligently on identifying barriers that currently exist within the community and creating sustainable solutions centered around relationship and family.
A special thank you to Ms. Melissa Lopez, Youth Specialist, and her colleagues at The Latino Community Center, for her leadership, dedication and unwavering support to Robert Morris University. Melissa and her colleagues partnered with the university by helping local area students and parents learn about university offerings such as different majors and career pathways, financial aid, college readiness, and success. Also, Melissa and Latino Community center student participated in this years RMU STEM Networking event that attracted various organizations, professionals and scholars. the students gained insight into various STEM-related disciplines. Finally, students joined in helping to cheer on and support the RMU Colonials Football team as they enjoyed an exciting victory over the Virginia State Trojans, September 8th. we are grateful to Melissa and the Latino Community Center and look forward to our continued partnership.
Exceptional service and the team at the LCC is always willing to go the extra mile (and they are very professional and knowledgeable!)
Rosa and her staff and volunteers have proven their dedication and commitment to the entire Latino community. At the Latino Community Center they are focused on meeting the needs of the entire family unit and ensuring that people are set up for success.
Latino Community Center has been a huge asset to Brashear High School. They have been working one on one with students to fill out the FAFSA forms and college applications. They also provide very valuable facts about their rights as documented or undocumented students for college and scholarships. They have organized college tours for many of our Hispanic students, opening their eyes to new possibilities.
The type of service that Latino Community Center provides is not a luxury, it really is an essential need. Our Hispanic youth will not get ahead in our society if we don’t offer the guidance and support that they need in how to navigate the systems that too often constrain them. It is essential that groups like Latino Community Center continue meeting the needs of these students.
As a board member, I am able to witness first-hand the selfless leadership from the Executive Director to the volunteers. This organization fills the gap in an area that has a growing community that deserves equal access to what Pittsburgh has to offer. The LCC ensures this access and is the reason I chose to take part in its mission. I had a chance to volunteer at a local high school and can tell you the members of the Pittsburgh Latino community are incredible human beings. I look forward to seeing what this organization accomplishes!
The Latino Community Center is a really commited organization that contributes to the development, engagement and flourishing of the Latino population in the Great Pittsburgh Area. Both Rosamaría and the staff are experienced, open to new ideas, upright people with values and principles. I have helped them for a very short time and I have tried to help as much as I could, but I am aware of the fact that I have given very little in comparison to all that I have received and learned.
The Latino Community Center is making a big and lasting impact on the Hispanic population in southwestern Pennsylvania.
I've worked with the Latino Community Center as a resident teaching artist and I just loved it! They have developed a beautiful program full of music and visual arts for the children to learn to feel proud and love their cultures. It's been a really lovely experience. I'm grateful for this wonderful organization and their very worthy cause.
As a native Pittsburgh resident eager to volunteer with the local Latino community, I was excited to find the Latino Community Center. Since its inception just over a year ago, I have had countless wonderful opportunities to volunteer in my community on so many worthwhile projects - helping package goods for Global Links, supporting their Back to School Bash for kids to kick off their school year right, and just engaging with a minority population in Pittsburgh with various outreach efforts. From education to advocacy, it seems like the LCC does a bit of everything and has already made a huge positive impact on the diversity in our community. I'm excited to keep working with the Center in the years to come as they continue to grow and expand their mission.
