Mission: to transform Latin Americans and their nations with the Gospel and a Biblical worldview, through training, equipping, and motivating current and future leaders.
Results: LATCOM is a unique Christian mission that seeks to spread the Gospel in Bolivia and across Latin America. While many missions are rooted in and operate via the United States alone, LATCOM takes a different approach. We believe that by inspiring and empowering people from the countries where we work to become leaders, more people in Latin America will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We motivate, equip, and train these leaders through a variety of ministries. The REDES Project is a church-planting ministry that has transformed the indigenous communities of Bolivia by nurturing their physical, mental, and spiritual health. We have helped local Christian leaders to plant 2 churches every year in the rural villages of eastern Bolivia, with the hope of reaching all 76 villages in the region. The Monte Blanco Camp & Conference Center teaches biblical principles and encourages young believers to become the spiritual leaders of tomorrow. The Christian outdoor camp has become known as the best Christian camp in Bolivia and one of the top in Latin America. Over 6,000 campers attend Monte Blanco every year. We lead a variety of Leadership Training efforts, providing opportunities for continuing education, leadership mentoring, and spiritual growth - including secular leadership outreach. We help train over 2,000 leaders in the public sector annually, and our outreach efforts reach thousands more. We send Mission Teams from the United States to help with construction and maintenance of church buildings, additions, etc. Opportunities exist for short-term, long-term, and vocational missionaries. Typically we send 3-4 teams to Bolivia per year. LATCOM has a longstanding tradition, beginning with the arrival of Dr. Charles and Jean Ramsey in Bolivia in 1953. Over the past several decades, LATCOM has pioneered ministries in Bolivia and beyond, including Christian radio. Because of our Bolivian mission partners, we are seen in the country as a Bolivian organization, rather than a “foreign mission.” Having built a rich tradition over the past several decades, we now minister in 13 Spanish-speaking countries and have begun training indigenous leaders to reach the 400 tribal groups of the Amazon Basin.
