Mission: The las vegas rescue mission (lvrm) exists to serve those in need through food, shelter, daily needs and addiction recovery, offering hope to individuals and families through jesus christ.
Programs: We have emergency overnight housing for individuals, single mothers, families, & we are the only local shelter able to accommodate single fathers. Our facilities provide temporary housing for nearly 200 men, women and children daily. The overnight shelter guests can stay up to 7 nights and if they are employed, up to 30 nights. Lvrm hosts homeless families enrolled in the' family promise of las vegas' program for up to 6 weeks, providing overnight shelter & hot meals. Parents attend classes to find a job, obtain stable housing, and receive ongoing support to help prevent them from sliding back into homelessness. In addition to the emergency shelter we offer a free one-year program for men & women with life- controlling addictions who want to make a positive life change. Residents have all physical needs met during the program to allow them to solely focus on recovery.
the las vegas rescue mission serves an average of 30,000 meals a month, free of charge and open to anyone who comes to our gates. Our community meal runs from 5pm-6pm, 365 days a year, and serves anywhere from 300 - 700 meals each evening. In addition we serve a breakfast to all our emergency overnight shelter guests and three meals a day to program residents residing at the rescue mission. We rely solely upon the contributions and support of concerned individuals, churches, corporations and other organizations in the las vegas community to provide these meals.
our thrift store is an important link between the community & our homeless & hurting neighbors. Donated items are given to those in need, or sold, with 100% of sales reinvested into our critical programs. The thrift store carries a wide variety of items, including microwaves, tv sets, couches, chairs, other furniture, clothes, kitchenware & more. Inventory is constantly changing, so visit often
