Causes: Homeless & Housing, Low-Income & Subsidized Rental Housing
Mission: Lantern Community Services' mission is to champion the independence and well-being of New Yorkers who are impacted by or threatened with homelessness.
Results: Over 20 years, Lantern Community Services has grown to provide on-site social services to over 2,000 New Yorkers. As new buildings have opened to serve many more people, we have greatly expanded our services, introducing evidence-based programming and establishing specialized programs led by expert staff in employment, health, nutrition and the arts.
Target demographics: New Yorkers who are impacted by or threatened with homelessness
Direct beneficiaries per year: 2,000 formerly homeless adults and families, and youth who had aged out of foster care
Geographic areas served: New York City
