I am not only a client served, I am also an LTSCV board member. Where do I start? There are three reasons I became a board member. The first was our experience with LTSCV's professional aquisition process and their one hundred percent commitment to us and to saving our farm. The second would be their focus on saving family farms, open lands, farm lands, rangelands and habitat. The third reason for joining the board was because in my lifetime I have seen too much of this incredible resource of Santa Clara valley soil get paved over by the poorly planned overdevelopment of the lands in our valley. I wanted to help save the open space, ecology, and what is left of the precious resource that are the incredible soils of the Santa Clara Valley. As for my experience as a client, the Land Trust of Santa Clara Valley helped save our generational family farm by providing the the funds we needed to buy out a family partner that wanted to sell the land. In doing that LTSCV not only saved our beautiful land with a conservation easement, they also saved this land in perpetuity for generations to come. What makes LTSCV unique among other non profits that are doing the same thing is the incredible professionalism, communication and willingness to accommodate our needs. Add to that their commitment to farmers and their land is first and foremost in the writing of the conservation easements. That being said they allowed us to make certain amendments to the agreement that benefited us. They also are not intrusive to the operation and leave us to our work with only one anual inspection per year. They are also always on hand to answer any questions we may have and to help us with their support in a myriad of ways. Another thing to note is that they are strong supporters of your private property rights. My experience with the LTSCV in acquiring the conservation easement on our land left me feeling extremely safe and secure in our ownership. Knowing full well that LTCSV was a strong partner in protecting and supporting our private ownership. I know that they will be there for me and future generations of my family in protecting this legacy property. As a client, I would recommend the LTSCV first to anyone interested in saving land for the future, whether it be by donation or easement sale. They are the best land stewards in their field.

The Land Trust of Santa Clara Valley has ensured that agriculture and open spaces remain viable in Santa Clara County. This supports wildlife and biodiversity. These lands also ensure our ground water supplies are replenished while providing food for people. The work of LTSCV is a benefit to people now as well as to future generations.

This land trust has been instrumental in conserving habitat for the Bay checkerspot butterfly and other imperiled species. Santa Clara Valley is a biodiversity hotspot, and organizations like this are needed to preserve and enhance their habitat. Even in a dense urban center, we can find ways to coexist with the natural world.

After volunteering repeatedly with this organization I can happily report that their professionalism, strong desire to protect the land, and supportive nature has culminated in a deep personal respect for their staff and the work they do. I can trust that the time I donate will be well spent, and that their determination to see their properties flourish into the future will bear fruit. I hope more land owners will do their part and contact this group immediately.

LTSCV works to protect agricultural lands which is critical to ensure a local, sustainable food source. LTSCV also provides our communities with ground water replenishment and offsets climate change by protecting open spaces. It is important to create a balance between the building needs of humans and land preservation. LTSCV creates that balance for both current generations and future generations.

Good start. Need to fill in more of the blanks. I really like the picture of the Bay Checker Spot Butterfly. I know you have more nature pictures of animals and plants which could be added to the web site.
