In just 4 years, Cynthia Ong (executive director) and LEAP have made a huge difference in the conservation communities of Malaysian Borneo. With a scope of work that includes facilitating partnerships and exchanges between grassroots oriented conservation NGOs, indigenous communities and progressive members of local government, the vital bio and cultural diversity of this ecological 'hotspot' has seen a revival of efforts and change provoked by LEAP's encouragement and ability to make sustainable connections and fill the gaps between the issues and resource deficits that commonly divide the global north and south.
