Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is such a special place where all animals (humans included) are treated with respect. I always look forward to my volunteer shifts there.
I started volunteering here earlier this fall, and the care the animals receive is unparalleled. The facilities are beautiful and clean, and everyone is highly committed to the animals’ care and comfort. Also of note are the sanctuary’s explicitly LGBTQ+ affirming stance and its dedication to education about the harms of animal agriculture. Overall, the experience here is one of compassion and commitment - a wholly positive atmosphere.
I love the Lancaster Farm Sanctuary! I have been a volunteer since 2020 and it has been a life changing experience to help care for the rescued animals. Thanks to LFS these animals have a life where they can be free and loved. I've felt welcomed as a volunteer and everyone I've met from founders Jonina and Sarah to the other LFS volunteers and workers has been a great experience. Lancaster is so lucky to have such passionate animal advocates!
Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is an incredibly special place to me. It is my happy and safe place. LFS is home to many types of rescued farm animals all with unique personalities and needs. Sarah and Jonina work endlessly to take care of each individual who lives there, giving them a life that all farm animals deserve, but most never get. They are the most selfless people I know who truly put their heart and soul into this place. LFS will educate you and open your eyes to a world where ALL beings are loved, respected, and valued. Spending time there gives me hope for change and a better future for farmed animals and humanity. I highly recommend learning more about the sanctuary and their mission by following and supporting them on social media, and visiting in person for a tour. I promise, it will change your life.
The Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is my happy place. No matter how bad things in the world might be, when I am at the Sanctuary I feel energized, hopeful, and peaceful. The energy there is amazing, the love they have for the animals, the care they take, it's all really incredible. I would highly suggest their tours and events. It's truly a magical place. I also found my community there, they are 100% inclusive!!!! They are the best! Sarah and Jonina do the best job taking care of the animals and keeping the LFS a safe place for all animals, humans and non-humans.
LANCASTER Farm Sanctuary gives a loving home to so many beautiful souls who have been rescued from the farmed animal industry. They also are educating people of the plight of farmed animals. It gives me hope for the future
Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is phenomenal: a real haven for animals suffering to find shelter and care. Each and every animal rescued gets individual love and attention as quickly as possible. Jonina and Sarah immediately open their hearts over and over again to animals that are sick, injured, abused, or neglected. Often the animal requires medical assessment and treatment. Lancaster Farm Sanctuary gets the connection made even when it’s costly stays at a medical facility or surgery. When they get home to LFS it’s especially beautiful when the stability of the place helps an animal learn to trust again. Aided by a trained staff and over 40 volunteers the Lancaster Farm Sanctuary community has seen so many animals trust, heal and thrive with consistent compassionate care. It’s wonderful bordering on miraculous sometimes! Follow it all on Facebook or come to meet the animals themselves by scheduling a tour in person or virtually.
LFS is a very special place. I can feel the goodness there every time I get the privilege to visit. Through hard working volunteers and a an obviously dedicated board of directors, no compromise is made to provide the residents of the sanctuary the best life that they deserve. I support LFS in any way I can!
LFS is one of my favorite places to be. The care and compassion that Sarah and Jonina have for all living beings is truly inspiring. Every resident knows nothing but love from the second they step foot on the sanctuary grounds. I was able to help raise/babysit Orville the sheep during the summer of 2020. I was even lucky enough to get engaged at the sanctuary this spring with some help from my buddy Orv. LFS is a truly magical place that everyone should visit and support if possible.
This farm sanctuary is situated in one of the most abusive ag districts for animals in the US. It is surrounded by factory farms and animals that never see the light of day. Instead here, the animals are given care and love and are simply allowed to live out their lives in peace, free from harm. It is hopefully part of a much needed change that improves relationships between humans and other animals.
Having a lifetime love of animals I was searching to make a difference. After going on one of their tours I knew I wanted to be a part of LFS. The knowledge, love & compassion that flows here is inspiring. The staff and volunteers help me feel normal wanting a vegan lifestyle. I appreciate them very much. Most of my family and friends don’t share this philosophy.
LFS is an incredible Sanctuary. Sarah and Jonina are knowledgeable, caring, responsible, fierce advocates for farmed animals. I became vegan because of my experiences touring and volunteering there. I honestly had never experienced anything else like that before. The stories of the animals are heartbreaking while also being inspiring, and bring so much joy. I highly recommend following them on social media, supporting their fundraising efforts and signing up for a visit if you get the chance.
Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is an incredible place where farmed animals get the love and care they deserve. Volunteering here is a joy! I know LFS is making a big difference, not just in the lives of animals but in our community and beyond.
Lancaster Farm Sanctuary is a wonderful organization that not only provides top notch care for dozens of farm animals, but also engages in many effective outreach efforts to encourage everyone to live a compassionate vegan lifestyle.
We're so fortunate here in Central Pennsylvania to have Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, which works tirelessly, day in and day out, to improve the lives of, and create a safe tomorrow for, the most vulnerable animals in our ag-driven area. In my volunteer experience with the sanctuary, I've seen first-hand how the founders, Sarah and Jonina- as well as the many other committed and dedicated volunteers, advocate for the animals' well-being and give them the new beginnings that they deserve to live out the rest of their lives in peace and happiness. I remember one video in particular, of Jonina laying with Moksha the cow on the ground, snuggling. Just this one, seemingly simple act, sums up the sanctuary so well: Farm animals have souls and want to be loved, safe and comfortable- just like any human. Lancaster Farm Sanctuary does just that, and loves them with their whole heart.
